I have a paddle shift and a manual shift in my austin mini and when on track always seem to find it easier to use the paddles…
It is true the gearbox and the paddle shift system have given me a few issues. However I am as confident as I can be that the paddle shift is now sorted. Since this 3rd incarnation of parts it has been 100% reliable. The gearbox has broke 3 times this year. 1st time was a cable issue, that no longer is a problem as I don’t use the cable. The second and third times have both been selector fork issues and I am now getting a set of uprated forks, that again should fix the problem. Fingers crossed anyway. In my opinion the advantages far out weigh the problems I have had. Plus if it all worked great 1st time, what would I do with all my free time. lol
