Dont see the point really Russ its just a bogo s2 with a little more power !! a glorified class A for 7 times the price or am i missing something
Must say mate, that my gut feelings are same as Chris’s.
Better to channel your dosh towards a 211, assuming there will be a one-make series in the next year or so -Interesting list of entries for Spa later this month
At 800kg and 280bhp it should be quite a package and if its factory developed for racing then it would hopefully be a reliable race car too.
As long as its not moon money then it would hopefully be a better buy than trying to build one yourself.
Not being funny, but why you possibly want to do that? It’s not going to be a road legal car (although perhaps it could be SVA’d???), so unless you’re going to race in GT4 (ie with a budget of at least 100K, & then will it be competitive???), what use is it? A pure trackday/racecar Exige/Elise prepared by Randy will pi$$ all over a factory racecar based upon an S2 Exige or 211.
In any event, I can think of much better ways I’d personally spend 60K plus on a pure trackday car.
No doubt I’m completely missing the point somewhere along the line, so I’m more than happy to be educated on this one
I know I’m missing the point Hey but Rob, you’re welcome at the wheel!!!
May I quote RussT…
“I’d be pi$$ed off if I found a BMW”
Just not my cup of tea, mate, but as usual I realise I’m probably out of line with the views of the vast majority (hell’s bells, I loved my Pug 107!), so please don’t take offence I’m sure that it’ll be great, both on road, & track
Lol it’s my first M and after reading TopGear Mag apparently they are only bought by t**ts Oh well…
Interesting stuff though but due to cancellations my October car(due to it’s DSG gear box) is now coming in June. I had a phone call to offer money off if I take it early… The dealership has had 9 cancelled various model cars this month and said the reason why the DSG box was so readily available was because it was the same across the country!

The saloon (with DSG) should be more exclusive, residuals will 55-60% over 3 years…same old same old! The point I was trying to make was that across their range cars are falling through. Spoke to a mate who visits dealers all across the country (training), he said the second quarter has been mega tough (more so than usual) really poor, expect big discounts of pre reg cars across the board 3rd quarter! Fuel’s not helping, petrol or diesel, all those years of Brown freely taxing it is really starting (NOTE: starting, it’ll get worse) to back fire on him!
I digress…more about the GT4. If you bought one, track use only or any car track use only for that matter what taxes and insurance do you have to pay? Also at what point do tracks days become swamped as buyers look to down size there day to day and have fun…like we do? Just wonder what the future holds with 1.25 a gallon! My wifes car (the tow car) costs 110 to fill
You will love the new M3 esp with DSG. I got new one in september (manual) and was best M3 I have ever had. That said wasnt special enought in looks so sold it but saloon I think looks better Q care and with DSG will be awesome. You will however spend lots of time at the pumps (just over 200 miles on tank on mine - ouch)
