It sounded to me like Russ was meaning a completely new car, not a 2-11 ??

Yup and it looks like the 2-11 outing either was a precursor to the GT4 race car - giving them a performance bench mark to hit (6-7 sec faster than the 2-11) or they hoped to race the 2-11 until they found it ‘too slow’ thus the GT4 race car

I though GT cars (not including Porsche GT1 and Merc CLKsGTRs from the 90s) had to be based on homologated road cars so is this GT4 going to be an S2 exige of some sort?

Must admit mr Fatcat, the only way I’ll ever sell my S1 is if they built that Sport Exige.

If Mustangs with 500hp are allowed (not exactly readily available in Europe) KTM have yet to sell a X-Bow seems to be a bit of slack in the rules

They have built it (it’s a one off) - races in the Far East. 3L GM engine. Launched at Autosport Show in Jan 2005. There are pics on here somewhere (no doubt young David will uncover them for us)!

Guys, Just for clarification I am on about an Exige, as per the thread title.

The 2/11 did not race and I think it was just there for a scruineering sessions as far as I know.

According to the regs it would be around 800kgs/280bhp. A 'dog (manual) gearbox - no sequentials as it has to be close to the road car. Standard bodywork too, not like the GT3 from a couple of years ago.

Probably still the Toyota engine then ?

Doesn’t sound like it’d be too bad at 280bhp, were the GT3 ones trying to put out more than that and hence their unreliability?

Dont see the point really Russ its just a bogo s2 with a little more power !! a glorified class A for 7 times the price or am i missing something

Anyway i can save you some cash by selling you this 06 exige s with a bit of cosmetic damage ideal race project, yours for �10,500
