EasyTrack - avoid

For anyone considering a track day this year, let me advise you against using EasyTrack. If you now look at their Terms + Conditions, you’ll see that they are allowed to “right to alter in any way an event”… which means that if you’ve booked into an Open Pitlane day with 40 attendees, they can change it to a 50, 60, 70 attendee day run in sessions without even notifying you. And should you be unhappy with these changes, tough luck. You won’t get a refund unless they can sell your space (which they can’t until you remind them to remove you from the list of attendees)The last EasyTrack day I attended was billed as Open Pitlane, but ran as sessions for the morning.I had another EasyTrack day booked for next month, only to find the number of attendees has gone up by 25% without notification. Also, if you are able cancel your track day and have someone replace you, any monies converted into a credit are lost after 3 months… So you may think, “Hmm… I’ll get a refund to my credit card then”… but oh no… you’ll be charged a nice 20% “admin” fee for this. Now all of these things are within their rules and terms + conditions… but they strike me as being very mean, particularly when compared with other track organisers.People have asked me what my relationship is with BookaTrack… I don’t have one, other than the fact I book so many track days, they’re the only guys I can trust, and who have never let me down. So I like to give credit where it’s due.

Thirded!I have done approx 25 track days since a friend introduced me to Anglesey in 2000. All of these have been with Bookatrack (cue Loyalty Discout!) and I have always been totally and completely satisfied.Wouldn’t go on one with anyone else (cue goodwill discount!)Giles

I think you’re preaching to the converted on here though Giles [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]

I can see why a cynic who doesn’t know me, would think Exiges.com has a relationship with BookaTrack.I have offered free banner ad space to other companies who I would gladly recommend. Unfortunately no-one else has taken me up on the offer.I had no relationship with PitLane garage, but promoted them at every opportunity because they were clearly a cut-above the rest. Same with Elise-Parts.If I were in it for gain, I’d be peddling Exiges.com T-shirts and sun-strips. [This message has been edited by Admin5 (edited 29 June 2002).]

Just for the record, the sun strips (& occasionally t-shirts) which I flog, are at cost price to me, plus p&p where appropriate [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

David - that more than makes that clear then…I think newbies and those that only occasionally drop in on this site need to understand that its all done with your own time and money completely FREE for the rest of us.Pesky - I really do think that you need to find some nice young ladies to model your range…perhaps David can even set up a separate forum for all Exige.com and other related merchandise.

Unfortunately, the rest is history… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image]However, the good news is that the Exige.com guys (RussT, 83man, Trevor, Keenan & Martin)who travelled to Le Mans with me, thoughtfully brought along a birthday present for me, & Vinyl Veronique has now kindly volunteered to do some modelling [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] I have booked a seesion at the local photo studio, & the photos will follow shortly [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]

Pesky!!Hoped to have seen you at Dony on saturday!!I’m about to put the piccies up so will let you know.Th Hawaian Tropic girls didn’t seem to approve of my chat up techiques at Le Mans - unfortunately I can’t go into any details…!

I saw this post after I had already booked and paid for an Easytrack day at Goodwood 22nd July, I decided to go ahead and see for myself because previous events at Goodwood with Easytrack have gone ok.Morning briefing on the open pitlane was fairly clear, only the open pitlane never happened. During the morning most drivers got 3 sessions of 5 laps only. During lunchtime the organisor quietly collected cash from a few drivers who turned up to see if they could get on track for the afternoon. This caused the number of cars to go above the 30 cars supposedly booked for the day. The afternoon consisted of queuing along the pitlane to get out for a 10 min run on track (again not an open pitlane policy) I got in another 3 sessions before I called it a day. I paid for a product that I did not receive, cancelled my card payment along with at least 4 other drivers, which the card company gladly accepted (false advertising). So I got a free day at Goodwood, still doesn’t make up for my disappointment in the way the day was run.The organisor saw fit to make himself scarce for the afternoon, guess his pockets were too full of cash, so we did not have any point of contact with any of the easytrack people.I know some of you guys will say ‘I told you so’ but I still had to find out for myself (too kind hearted I guess)

Check out the comments on the BAT Forum for the BaT day at the same venue. http://www.bookatrack.com/isapi/bat.dll?5&fram&a&b&c&1 And for the record I’ve got no alliance with anyone… for anything…

Sorry to hear about your experience Kam…Live and learn eh ?

I’ll know better next time, still it was a FREE DAY eventually.I managed to chew up a few 911’s and a pack of Caterhams, not a complete loss. I guess that’s my soft side talking again![This message has been edited by kam (edited 24 July 2002).]

I had a crap time earlier this year with Easytrack at Oulton Park - maybe foolishly I’m booked for Monday’s trackday with them at Silverstone - so I’ll let you know how it goes.I have always had first class times with BAT, only problem with them is the lack of variety of circuits and dates (they added the Silverstone one after I had booked with Easytrack). If you like Elvington, Goodwood and Anglesey, you are OK. Hethnel, Goodwood and Bruntingthorpe are no goes if you have 190 kits and SS exhausts - due to the noise limits.I’d love to support BAT more, but when I emailed them re other dates (Brands, Oulton & Croft) I didn’t get any response. It maybe an idea to get together with an Elise forum and arrange some specific events with Jonny and his team.

My first rant and rave about the day on the Easytrack site was removed. Seems like they do not like negative feedback from it’s customers.
