Donny Tue 22/3 BAT Noisy Day

Great vid Marc!!

I might be a little late boys - wife stayed at home today and not leaving until later 2morrow morning

Phoned Jonny L and let him know. Should be arriving around 10am so hopefully won’t miss much - fingers crossed

Better not wear your Nomex pyjamas tonight then, Chris!

Do we know what garage numbers we are in??

I realise I am late to the party, but I hope there might be a bit of garage space for me as well?

Ta

I do have a separate pair just in case I set the bed on fire - easy tiger !!!

11, 12, 13 chaps

Got the car out today and its running great…I feel like shit though :frowning: I’m sure getting up in the middle of the night to drive up from London to get there for 8 will help

All honk Ben as you pass on the M1 to keep him awake!

EFA

Have a good day guys … I will be watching videos of Donnington to get the atmosphere …

Perfect weather for you today! Wish i had the cash for more days out, hope it all went well?

Thanks - I’m sure once the guys finish their curry’s/drive home there will be lots of posts on today.

Great weather today - nice and hot, a little too hot this morning.
I arrived late to discover that the superbikes had comandeered the whole pit complex so we had to use the melbourne loop as a makeshift pit area - bit of a pain really. Not BAT’s fault as they only found out this morning.
This spoilt the social element of the day as all the Exiges boys were scattered around.

Anyway, I’ll let the rest of guys post up on the other happenings today

Yea so we arrived to a little chaos, it didnt matter too much really as the sun was shining and the track was bone dry! Jonny L handled it well, I know he was very upset but it was not his fault and tbh I quite liked hanging round the loop, made a pleasant change…did I mention the sun was shining lol.

Ben sorry you couldnt make it buddy, get well soon…you were missed.

Well the Kaaz gear set is excellent, I didnt spend a second off Cam, the cars a real screamer. It took me all morning and the first part of the afternoon to work out what gears to be in, when and where to shift or short shift etc. I was hitting the limiter down Craners, during Copice and during the Esses. I couldnt get myself sorted and especially couldnt get myself sorted losing time balancing the throttle at 8k most of the lap. So eventually upped the gears short shifting into 5th well before Craners, snapping 4th during Coppice and taking the Esses in third…and I was always on Cam, always! Lap times improved no end…Shame no Pete around at 330pm coming onto the pit straight, cocky Aussie tosser lol. So anyway I cant thank John and Wayne (JSR) enough, gears feel solid and the car rapid and a big thanks to Jim at 2ublar while Im doing the Oscars speech for best mod award. NA brethren, expel the Devil that is forced induction and embrace a new stronger more reponsive power in the name of Kaaz the close ratio gear set! NA Rocks baby :sunglasses: bring on the head (hopefully) soon.

Great seeing everyone, Marc’s 211 is the bollox btw :sunglasses:

And a few pics…

How coordinated is this fella  lol

And how happy is this chap  lol

These peeps too

Someone broke there cherry

And this is just a cool pic

Lastly Vicki Parrott from Autocar was on track today in the 250 Megane. Spent a fair bit of time with us and took some pictures so keep and eye out, really nice girl…and quick.

[Have some posts gone missing? I could have sworn Andy posted on me managing to get home now I have a Honda. Anyway…]

Hey Andy, guess the weak link in me getting my car to the Edwards and Ben giving me a lift home?

Ian

Great to see everyone yesterday enjoying themselves.

Pity we were spread out, so the usual socialising was curtailed somewhat.

Thanks Jonnyfox for the lunch - gravy was a bit lumpy…

Big thanks to Pierre for testing my stents! Really enjoyed the few laps in your fab car (set up to perfection), & pedalled with a lot skill :sunglasses: Should I mention the brakes?

Great;
Day
Company
Track
Weather
etc

It was nearly hot enough for me to need my air con on

Car in rude health, gap made in manic professional diary, negotiated a day off from my paternal commitments, weather looking fantastic, great circuit and all set for a fab day with the lads…and I felt utterly wretched

Gutted does not begin to describe how I felt at 05:45 standing by the car realising I was in no fit state to go. I’ve not had a day off sick for years…f’in typical

Sounds like you had fun even with the lack of aceess to the pits…good job it was a nice day. I’m feeling a bit brighter today,…well I’m in the office anyways. Roll on Anglesey is all I can say.

Also a big thankyou to Jonny at BAT. I emailed him at about 7am to say I was not gonna make it and he found someone to take my place. As I said to him, its service like that which justifies our continued support and custom.

Awesome day, nerves a bit rattled after passengering with the Mrs at the wheel. Scoob was a hoot!

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better, also concur about Jonny L with some frantic emailing from me on Sunday he reserved me one of the spaces from a drop out.
He certainly did well given the situation with the circuit, he was very vocal as to how the pit entry exit was to be run and it was stuck to by everyone, apart from some of the race teams that appeared to be there doing shake down runs (read testing with i’m sure no timing) several of their cars created red flags by spinning at the chicane which was truly annoying.
