Jeez … I misread the thread title at first …
Thought I was on the wrong site !
Love em
Is your MAF … Dirty ?!
Don’t forget to clean the two hot wires inside the housing. spray a bit on them and be careful not to touch them with the straw. They might break.
I blasted some cleaner down the tube without the straw though .
whats a MAF?
and where is it?
Others that don’t speak Klingon may want to clean theirs too
It stands for mass air flow and monitors how much volume of air goes into your engine and it is locacted to the left of the throttle body in the air intake
Oh just a thought I couldn’t find it in Klingon To English fraise book either
For smiles always have a spare new MAF in the tool box for when cleaning doesn’t work…
At 94+ don’t think I’ll be keeping a spare in my tool box
Ask yourself how much is that beautiful weekend drive worth ?
It will need replacing at some time why not have it on hand before you miss out on a nice sunny day… Oh I forgot you guys are in England…
That seems to me it is just a standard Toyota MAF sensor same as on Celica/MR2. Im sure you can find these cheaper elsewhere?
I have seen them for about 40 on ebay.

thats England land to you… colonial.
^^^^^^^ Right you are…
After cleaning the MAF I had a brisk hours drive to Notts and back , the car runs smoother and feels quick but after 40 mins I had a few stalls slowing down to a stop again , I’m going to get a new MAF to see if that works and also a new Lamda sensor , is it the pre cat one I need to change ?
Still think this is from the shite fit from my TRD box .
Trd is not the best fit in the world agreed …
I used silicone sealant to assemble mine ,without it I never would have got a satisfactory seal …
Yes Moomin it is the pre cat lamda
does anyone have the part number for the toyota MAF or similar that does fit? i might replace mine to see if it frees up my missing ponies
