Detailed...

I have had the Exige for about 18 months and have only run a washmitt over it a couple of times. I’ve never removed any of the track rubber or grime so it was in an awful state. Indeed it got some comments at recent trackdays on how bad it looked. :frowning:

So it was time to give it some TLC. I booked Iain from Finer Details to do it and promised him a shout on the forum. Iain is based in Manchester but does operate nationally if you want to book him.

Its a real shame I didn’t have time to take some pics this morning, but here are some pics to show off his hard work.

Even my son was impressed

looks lovely, i get a free detail in january, my cars been selected to go on display at the autosport show

Iain was part of the Swissvax team that did them last year.

Now that’s lots better…looking a little tired that white at OP mate but now like a new penny lol.

looks gorgeous! just the way they should look, mines having some tlc 2moro night ready for a journy down south to london

Looking good Damon!

I thought you had a detailing firm?

He did, moved on to bigger things with a bloke named Geko!

Haven’t done it for over a year now, http://detailfinish.co.uk

Is that so you can run away from annoyed customers?

Iain has put a thread together on a forum…

Shows the condition of the car before and how good a job he has done.

The owner booked me to clean up and protect the car, he wasn’t looking for the car to be restored to mint perfection, and upfront explained the wheels just needed to be cleaned over. Having said that, he is a Detailer and used to run his own Detailing business so a certain level was expected. No pressure, none more so than detailing another detailer’s car!

Interior first, and lots of moving round the car, reaching in from all angles to try to reach stuff, then on to engine bay, shuts etcs. After this, wheels washed and cleaned with brite wheels, car with snowfoam and then clayed with swissvax paint rubber. Then out with the glue and tar remover, with me on the kneeing pad and cramp in my shoulders and hands once done. After this, the kestral and presta 3000 glaze, topped off with wolfgang sealant.

how much was all that then? if u dont mind me asking…

At least 1 proper trackday, & I know which would get my money!

Iain I have worked together in the past and he looked after me on this one as he knows my leg prevents me putting in the hours on it.

I spoke to him today and he said he’d discount anyone mentioning this detail. His work is up there with the best but his prices are more ‘real world’ than most.

Give him a call

i think it would be a challenge to give him a car dirtier than urs damon so i think all in all its money well spent  hes done what takes me 14 hours lol and i need 2 days to recover and a massage from the gf…

Agreed - superb work!

My earlier comment was somewhat “tongue in cheek”, & made after chatting with Damon, & others, at Oulton on Tuesday. Car cleaning was one of the things mentioned…

Great job!

What gets me with is detailers is that the more obscure the cleaning product name, the better it is. I’ve never heard of most of that stuff

Now then, where’s me Autoglym?
