OK, need some help. Why all of a sudden (well since about a month ago) does Exiges.com not remember me on each visit and I have to keep bloody logging on all the time. Every time I click the “remember me” check box, but it never bloody does!
are you using firefox or internet explorer or … ? You might have changed your settings so that it clears your private info when you close the browser window.
go to tools in the top menu and then internet options at the bottom. you can then click delete in the middle. I would try ticking ‘temp internet files’, ‘cookies’, ‘form data’ and ‘passwords’ and then click ‘delete’. then try logging into exiges again and see if it remembers you.
Do other sites you visit remember your login details? This information is stores in the Windows Registry so first you need to see if it is a settings issue or a corruption of the registry entry.
I run Norton internet security and had an update. I have had to log in and click remember me again while the Norton login was active, could be the same issue.
Cookies do rember log ins, jhowever the registry keeps details of site as well. I have had issues at work when I worked with IT that the registry file would get a corrupt line and never recover for a particular site unil that line was deleted.
For example a search on my Registry has 6 entries for Exiges.com.
The registry, for websites, just stores your most recently visited sites, not login info. Norton may be adding stuff to it for encrypted passwords but I dont think it does. Anyways, I dont want an argument, maybe I am wrong.
Do use any form of anti virus software that remembers your logons.
Also, and I don’t mean to be rude, but have you clicked the remember me icon when you are asked to log on?
I had a customer once where I was talking them through the process to put an emergency key code into a Ranger Rover to get it started. After 20 minutes of turning the key clockwise/anti clockwise and pressing buttons it came out that the customer was in the office and had not actually put the key in the door of the car A very valid lesson for me to never assume the basics!!!
