Quick question guys.
Getting rid of cat, is fitting replacment pipe a diy job?
Absolutely - even I was able to do it
Just remember to seal the CAT in an airtight bag, for storage !!!
Mike, when I looked you’d taken the silencer off too
Surprising how much power the CAT seems to sap
Is that true?
I still have my CAT, maybe I should remove it then…
Uldis it def seemed to reduce performance - but worse bit was it strangled that glorious sound from the ss
ps - you’re fast enough leave it on…
Mike, when I looked you’d taken the silencer off too
Ah, but that was later
Cool, is it just the rear diffuser I have to remove or the whole rear undertray?
Just the Diffuser …
Good, I wont have to lift the car up will I? Will have to order the replacment pipe when my next cheque comes in.
By the way Uldis, when are you next at knockhill?
I’d say you need to lift the car slightly.
You can try rolling it onto wood planks and lift it about 4"
Uldis, if you do still have your Cat there won’t be much left of it now!
Rooney, if you’re going to track it (and you must! ) consider a silenced replacement pipe.

I have a set of ramps you can borrow if you want.

or you may also find that putting the left side tyres on a pavement gives you the space…
One tip - the bolts can be a bugger to get loose, so I would recommend spraying them with plusgas or WD40 and leaving them for half an hour before you really get going…
Thanks for the offer dave, where are you at?
Is B&C the best place to order them from?
Cat Replacement Pipe supplier - prob best from Eliseparts - 0845 2261012…

As Ian says, well worth fitting the “silenced” cat replacement pipe (Eliseparts sell them). Dropped my db from 106 to 98 when tested at Oulton
Thanks for the offer dave, where are you at?
2 miles from Dunfermline and 3miles from Knockhill
Dave
I ordered a repackable (silenced) CRP from Powerspeed, since the Eliseparts is sealed.
And Rooney, there’s plenty going on up in Scotland that I couldn’t type on this board. Better subscribe to Scottish Elises .

Hope to see you soon there.
