Just started looking for Exige 48 hours ago, go load of background info from reading the mad ramblings of you lot - some of you require therapy. Narrowed down to few potentials to buy - excellent service. Don’t know which icom it is but grinning like a fool. [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] Hope that’s the one - could have just been very rude to someone.

Miles when you get one - and you must! - you too will become rambling, but guaranteed the [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] will get bigger and wider by the day…

Miles, just buy one…U know it makes no sense what so ever… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]

And it makes you do silly things like taking a 60 mile route to go home back from work (when the normal way is 8 miles [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/blush.gif[/image] )Just did that yesterday [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]Uldis

Ditto.I have just gone out for a paper and managed to drive to Southampton and back via the back roads 200 mile round trip, loved every minute of it, buy one, Mark.

Done over 400 miles today looking at a couple of potential investments - I love how the car looks but can’t believe how it sounds - I was 90% certain at 8.00am this morning - now I’m 200% certain. Tride to expalin to my wife what the noise is like - Darth Vader with asthma, following a bake bean curry and loads of beer - farting and snorting but she seems to think I’m a sad B****rd - she’ll learn.Any adv ice a bout getting a full AA (or similar) check - like couple of them - both 2000 - unmodified 177 bhp - with around 18K miles. sorry Miles i do not know anyone up North for this?? Chaps can you help, Pesky where are you sir???

Medermon - the one I like best is in central London so Southern inspectiton would be best.I’m sure I’ve seen something in the Lotus owners mag advertising inspections but cant’t find them.

Sorry about the spelling Mcdermon - can’t type - too exited -

Pesky - McDermon seems to sending me your way - looking for advice about getting a “beast” checked over before buying it - the car is in London - I’m in sunny Southport - basically a posh Scoucer - do you know any soft Southern Jessies who could give it the once over so I can establish it has not been used for ploughing fields or similar.CheersMiles

Miles i always recomend Pesky as he is the info libary on Exiges.Mr Pesky hope to see you at a TD soon sir.Miles well there is Sinclaire’s http://www.sinclairebodyshop.co.uk/main.asp who are A1, ask for Mark or Wayne and mention me and they will look after you.Alternatively you can log onto www.seloc.org and we have loads of Lotus dealers, specialists offering their services on there too, most southen based for you.I do not feel totally comfortable offering my services for looking it over, however if you need someone along with you as an owner and lover of these beasts, hen send me a mail off line. Good luck, Mark.

Mark - thanks for your kind words, & yes I do hope to see some of the Exiges.com guys at a track day soon [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]Miles - get yourself across to our local Lotus 7 Club meet next Wednesday. (We meet on the first Weds of each month). As well as Caterhams/Lotus 7, Westfields, Tiger 6s, we get a few Ultimas & other exotica, plus myself, RussT, JohnO & Steve will be there in our Exiges. We meet at the Watermillock in Bolton http://www.thedeckersgroup.com/watermillock/ Hope you can make it, & good luck in finding an Exige [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

Thanks for all the help people - I actually spoke to Sinclair today as they have looked after the beast for the last few services - they knew the car and owner well and were very complimentary about the vehicle - the owner has spent whatever necessary - they did mention a new steering rack which concerened me but they say it is a bit of a weak spot on the Exige/Elise. Based on their comments I feel OK with it mechanically - HPI is clear as well - running out of excuses why I should not buy the bloody thing.Whatch this space [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

And don’t forget its trackday this Saturday at Angelsey…so if you want to see some Exiges having fun, then come along.JohnO

I wasn’t too sure about Lotus Racing Green - but Red sounds bit in yer face (shame to spoil such an understated family run around).Anyone got a phone number for Esteem insurance - can’t find them on the net or via Directory Enquiries - AA given best quote so far - 1120 (3 years NCB and 1 speeding ooophs conviction)

MilesTry JohnO at Autotorque Insurance 0161 278 5226, he also drives a tasty Exige [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]
