Are you sure you have the right pulley ? Did you measure it ( where the belt sits ? )
Does the guy know how to map this engine and jackson combo - if so whats his opinion, as if he has done one before he must know whats going wrong ? or is he saying that 6.5 PSI will only give you 205 WHP ?
tbh he not much help and has not done this combo b4…its cost 500 too fumin…he has advanced as much as poss with no more bhp.
remember were talking 205bhp@ THE WHEELS NOT THE FLY. i presume about 240 @ fly. im sure i should really be seein 240-255 @the wheels and 290-305 @the fly…am i right?
the pulley origionally was the 5psi one…i phoned cpl and bought the 8psi and 650 injectors (dont like cpl…btw terrible service and always unwilling to give out advice!!!)
so pulley shoud be right but wil double check tomorrow wen i pick it up. 3.4" is the 8psi i believe?
i just dont know what the problem is…not enough boost and no where near enough power!!! and 500 down grrrrrrrr very grrrrr im skint already fucking really upset. need help folks big time
OK, lets start checking things. I am guessing the engine ran fine on the dyne, no excessive air temps, coolant temps etc? Both of these will pull ignition and reduce power, but your dyno guy should of seen this straight away.
I am guessing the dyno guy would have seen if the VTEC wasn’t working or if there was an air leak or something.
Are you sure the engine is OK? Is it worth doing a compression test to see if everything is ok.
Who fitted and wired in the OMEX? Are you sure everything is OK there. I would have thought it would be as anything wired wrong with the ECU should have shown up during mapping.
im there tomorrow to pick up n have a chat. 1st thing will be to check the pulley.
ill question about temps but its never gone over 91 with me.
im sure the wiring is a1 as he noticed a few issues with it and adressed them before starting. Comp test would be worth doin i suppose…hope its not me rings…ill have to do stroker kit if it is lol…vtec…ill ask questions on that.
car was on the road in dec 08 running the k20 with omex ecu and basic map. i never r roaded it to see horses. it did run like shit really, bogging here and there and only smooth when in v-tec (over 6500)
then i aquired the jrsc from a civic type r. it was running the 5 psi pully when in the civic. anyway bits were swapped over so that the civic was returned to standard and my k20 took all the modified bits.
so now my car has a non running k20 550 injectors, jrsc with 5 psi pully.
i then contacted cpl racing and sourced the 8 psi kit. included in this kit was the smaller 3.4" 8psi pully, a smaller belt and the 650 injectors. these parts were all fitted along with facet pick up, swirl pot and facet pump.
so with the aboved fitted i took the car (non running) to a rolling road. i also sourced a base map from a friend with a simialr spec to mine…thus providing a better base for the r road.
car was there for weeks…went down and had them do it…took car with 200 bhp @ wheels and was told to bring it back when used to the power etc.
took it back last week and picked up today and i have no printed read out cause he forgot and he said it only has 205bhp @ the wheels. fumin!
i questioned about the v tec and he was not sure where it comes in etc and questioned about the by pass on the sc and he has no ides about it.
Paul @ TDi North in Warrington did mine in about 4 hours and then they Pesky’s. Both cars were within 4hp of each others although it was much, much warmer when mine was done (guess who had 4 less )
Knows the K20 inside out, although not sure if he works on Omex stuff as both ours have the hondata.
Sounds like your guy is…er… to be polite… struggling.
There’s only one place to go to if you want the Omex setting up properly, & thats Omex in Cheltenham. Great guys…but I stuck with Hondata which is the tried & tested route with quality “mappers” throughout the UK.
