bit gutted now......please comment or help

Hasn’t the car just been to Omex???

This really is a strage case, The JRSC’s all produce similar results when mapped properly.

Its a sahame Tdi north won’t map it (Tdi south would)

I would take it to someone who knows the ECU and the engine. I would also be interested to see what the reading was a better known RR.

I would take it to someone who knows what they are doing and then try and get the money back of the current numptie.

Just to add are you using the manual tensioner? If you are ditch it, its utter wank and the honda one is better. Has the guy checked that the belt id not slipping resulting in loss of boost?

I’d be expecting more like 280-290 at the wheels I think…

My NA Honda is about 214 at the hubs.
280-290 at the fly more like

Con… didn’t realise that you are so bitter…

Hope you have a great Sunday @ Brunters :sunglasses:
  wondered how long it would take you

hope the weathers better 2morrow mate but should be there late morning

Just reading on SELOC about a NA K20 A that made 230 FHP at Omex …

I think you need to get down there, if thats where you went then something else is seriously wrong and it may not just be the engine …

i never been to omex but considering it. waiting to talk to a chap in chester called adrian who says the rr are doin somethin wrong and he will sort it and get the power…dont like paying twice though…where do i stand with the rr i have already used’? they should be doing the research and sorting it i feel???
andy d…seriously wrong…what mean?

I mean the RR operator has no clue what he is doing … and is just fobbing you off - or you upset him !!

The key to extract the right numbers from these conversions is the mapping, many people will tell you they have the experience blah blah blah but actually have little idea - for those of us who have done the DIY route that knowledge has already cost us …

To put it bluntly, get it to Omex otherwise your likley to spend another load of cash on a not sasifactory result …

Where do you stand ? 500 quid of pocket mate ! and a little wiser, thats how it goes in the tuning world …

And a small point but in the old days of RR with carbs and clockwork ignition a good RR operator would test compressions and make a baseline run before doing any mods … Im amazed that that is not often done now …

Ahhh nostalga …

Takes me back to when Geoff Goodliff (ex Bitish Vita Race team for those of pesky’s generation  ) with occaisonaly Harry Ratcliffe sat in the drivers seat used to tune my race Mini. Top old boys who really knew how to tune a car although worryingly rarely used to strap it down :astonished: unless I waited and watched them do it.

How is the car, is it sorted?

hi all…today i dropped of my car at a tuner in north wales called ab performance, quiet little place but guy is well up on sc k20 engines and na k20’s…and has even played with them in a couple of lotus.
my first question to him was what do u think is the cause of the problem…after me relaying everythin that re performance had done he said the most likely cause is cam timing. even on a standard car u can see upto 40 bhp with cams timed etc.
this was not done at re. now, who thinks for 500 quid they should have had cam timing as part of the mapping session to get the biggest and propper gains?
