Best mod / worst mod

Not the sexiest of mods, but …

I have a cracked plastic mat retaining thingy and may replace them with a set of the black alloy fastenings, however it looks as if the base of the factory fixing post is riveted from underneath plus a blob of black mastic. Is this correct ? Drilling out the rivet is fine but not if bits drop into the void below and rattle around.

Worst mod was a quick shifter stick on my S1 Elise which was quickly removed. Best mod was the Lotus supercharger kit on my NA S2 Exige. Reminds me of back when my car was NA. Best mod was the ECU reflash for the lower cam change. Made it completely linear for track use. I know some people preferred the drama of the cam change, but definitely not desirable on track.

Sorry to hear that; never heard so mixed reviews about a company before, some love 'em, so hate 'em! Was this on an Evora or an S1? Looking at back box options for my S1; current (Janpeed oval) is a bit too short so is recessed in the rear clam.

Re the S1. I have a Janspeed twin pipe from Demon Tweeks . Looks better than to me than the oval and has lasted well over many years. Plenty of clearance around the pipes and exits a fair way. Could it be that there is a bit of movement on your pipe to bring exit further out?

Yeah there probably is scope to move the oval tip out, but it’s stuck solid and can’t get room to hit it when it’s in-situ. Can’t get the exhaust out either without cutting the support off, so might just buy a new one! Janspeed option sounds interesting, looks like they don’t sell it anymore though
