Baffled sumps

CIN - what does that mean in this context?

Maybe there’s some lessons to be learnt from the likes of Landrover - their engines are designed to be run at such angles without having to resort to baffled sumps or Accusumps.

In very very basic ternms, at low revs the oil pump picks up less oil so the system can keep up, at high revs the oil pump is working overtime, picks up much much more oil so the end result is no oil to pick up.

Use a baffled pan or stash money for a new engine it’s just that simple.

Well, there’s been a lot more posted on this topic than I thought there would be. I think the general concensus is that it’s worth doing and I’m going to have it done.

The Accusump could save your engine from failure due to low oil pressure!

Operation is very simple. The Accusump is charged by the engines oil pump and releases more oil into the engines pressurised oil system when it detects a drop in oil pressure. Once the pressure in the system returns to normal, the Accusump takes back the oil it has added - ready for next time.

With the Accusump fitted, your engine has a consitant flow of pressurised oil to critical components while the engine is being used in circumstances where oil may move away from the oil pump - i.e. long, fast cornering on track or during fast road use.

Yes but the accusump costs more takes up space in the boot adds weight and adds more things to go wrong a baffled sump is simple.
