Autosport show '09

If there’s anyone off here going to the AutoSport show over the next few days, it just may be a good idea to make sure you go and see the RS Performance stand (stand no. 19735).

If it is what I think it is, then Evosal in particular should steer well clear

Tomorrow…do go on!

Tomorrow…do go on!

I’ll start the guessing at 130K.

Just got home from the show. Yes the car in question is very sexy!!! Oh and its 160k if you tick all the boxes!!

160k ?..for what car exactly ?

Don’t want to spoil the suprise, go to the show and have a look.

It starts life as a Lotus.

It starts life as a Lotus.

A mad as a wasp carbon Exige* lookalike with a V8 then

*S2 obviously

Clio Cup ‘712’

It’s a V6, made by the guys doing the RSTV8 engine (as in Caparo) & the 105K Caterham.

Is that including, or excluding VAT, Sean? VAT @ 15% on 160K is another 24K.

That wasn’t on the link earlier…I second that post Look forwards to seeing it tomorrow…kind of !

Dont worry they will do a V8…!
when the car came to our place for the first time in september, the V8 was in it…
they are currently doing an Elise as well.
The V6 looks like the better engine though.

Missed that one! What is the engine? Anyone know?

I spoke to Russell early last year when they were doing a bit of a shakedown at North Welad of the Caterham Levante and demo’s for two guys (who ended up buying!!). Very impressive engineering and boy did that Levante shift . He was talking about the Exige and the V8 going in it.

Russell Savory is to launch a lightweight race-oriented, [color:“red”] supercharged 2.3litre V6-powered [/color] GT. Starting from the bonded chassis of an Exige, which is stiffened and extended by 230mm and includes an all-new rear-subframe design including uprights, wishbones and track-derived geometry by Pilbeam Racing Design The bodywork has been extensively modified by designer John Keogh including lengthening and widening the rear to accommodate the longitudinal V6 and wider rubber to harness over 500bhp from the 120 degree V. This is fed by an enlarged roof duct and features an all new version of RSs ultra-lightweight RST-V block, twin intercoolers, sequential six-speed gearbox and is controlled by a custom Pectel ECU. Large curvaceous side intakes guarantee copious air for the charge coolers and twin rear deck ducts takes air to the aft-mounted engine and gearbox oil-coolers topped by a specially sculpted rear wing to provide necessary high speed downforce.
The cars will be built in a dedicated facility that forms part of an historical development of the Stow Maries World War I airfield near Chelmsford, Essex in England. Orginally the home of RAF No. 37 Squadron, the corps flying insignia, a hooded falcon appears on the upper part of the new RSW badge.
