I’m in the middle of a forced suspension refresh (there’s a story in that) but have inadvertently bent my anti roll bar while removing the drop link. It’s a bit scrappy as well, so I may go down the route of replacing it. The questions I have are thus:
Is it the same as an Elise ARB?
Is it worth upgrading to something aftermarket?
If so who am I going to for the parts?
The car goes on a track 3-4 times a year and does about 3000 miles on the road per annum.
Make sure you don’t get a ‘bent one’ Gav has two that aren’t true. My first one wasn’t, sent it back and the second one is much better but not perfect
At the money I would expect some precision!!!
Thanks for the feedback gents. I’m certainly not going for a Pilbeam one based on the above info, and the price is a little beyond me.
Dave,
I’ll be in touch when I’ve saved some money to carry out my suspension refresh. It’ll be for the works, but I’m on a budget (the current pay for being a house husband is shockingly bad, i.e. nil!!)
Thanks matey. I’m not in a massive rush and I’m still stripping the front, I need to source a pair of rear struts to undo the rear hub nuts as before I can make real progress. I want to take all the bits to the blasters in one visit, and then have a kit of parts to assemble. I have to get a part time job to fund the new dampers and refresh kit I’ll be buying, so it’s definitely a bit of a slow burn project (although I am determined to keep the wheels of progress turning)!
Thanks for looking Benja, I appreciate it. I may be in need of other bits as the refresh continues, so it’s good to know you have some bits and bobs. Does Mike Bentley have one? If not I may look at upgrades to larger diameter.
My std anti roll bar is located with nylon blocks. Is that standard?
