What a great day, fantastic weather, good company and a great track.
Thanks to Pesky for organising it
Sounds like a good day, look froward to some pictures and videos
Yup, thanks Pesky - a great day, fantastic effort and well done booking the weather!
Well worth the travel down for us, sorry we couldn’t stay to socialise, got back home to Aberdeen just after midnight!.
Ditto…
nice 1 pesky for the help in finding a last minute place
Also thx to evo ufo for the pax laps… what a well sorted car and a very accurate and quick drive that was …clearly illustrated my underperformance !!!
Agreed - thanks Rob - your efforts are much appreciated!
Thanks for the comments, everyone, pleased that you enjoyed it as much as me!
However, the real thanks should go to all those who booked - firstly, your enthusiastic response to the proposed get together in early January ensured that the day was a “goer” from the start, secondly the driving standards/etiquette on the day were impeccable, & thirdly for carrying on the tradition of plenty of banter & laughter
It was, as usual, fantastic to meet up with the peeps who always have to make an extra effort to attend eg those from SE England, & the far reaches of Scotland
Finally, I hope those few who had “mechanical problems” either at the circuit or during their journies home, get them quickly resolved.
Fingers crossed that we can meet up again over the summer, at the various LOT Races, either in the UK or Europe

No plans for another day later in the year Rob?

Rather difficult, unfortunately - many of the guys are busy racing, & need some “family life”, plus available weekend circuit time will already be booked by race meeting/trackday organisers.
However, & bearing the above in mind, that is the reason I started the thread “Oulton 30th Oct with LOT” in the Meets/Events section. Plus, I feel that we should support LOT, whenever possible, as they have contributed so much to the Lotus community over past few years
Finally, one of the reasons the “exiges.com” day has always proved successful is because it is only an annual event, so peeps make the effort cos they don’t want to miss it!

Cheers Rob. Too be honest, it’s the fact everybody is so great that makes it worth the risk to travel so far in a Lotus. So if your car pops a drive shaft on lap 6 you can still enjoy your day.
Happy Easter everybody!
Ian
ps. Got home, still smiling, at 00:20
Yep thanks uncle Pesky, thouroughly enjoyed my first time on track, great weather, great circuit and what fantastic little cars we are lucky to have
Cant wait till the next one
Should also add my thanks to Mr Pesky here ( see also Anglesey, the aftermath) and to all the characters in the world of exiges. Not a miserable bugger among them!
We’re lucky buggers to own these pocket rockets and have so many great owners/peeps to keep us company

Cheers Rob for taking the lead again. Echo all the sentiment above - weather, company, circuit, track etiquette etc all perfect
I had some of the best time ever in my car as I learned the circuit and the new setup on my car. Still not at all happy with the brakes but following a visit to Randy the handling is absolutely on the button
I was utterly shattered though and should have called it a day after a magic session late afternoon…I didn’t but at least my last session provided some entertainment for Pete and John who was paxing (sorry John )
I was not really looking forward to the long journey home. On the dual-carriageway section of the A5 an ominous vibration started when off drive. Pulled over but too dark to investigate so nursed the car along at 65 all the way to M40. It was getting worse so I came off at the Silverstone services. As I slowed the metal on metal clang from the drivetrain made it clear it was terminal Thanks to Martin/Steve for phone support. After a long wait for the AA flatbed, I clang clanged down my road at 3am.
Woke up the little one as I came in but he was back off by 4am…then the other one started the day at 5:45 Not even looked at the car so don’t know what it is…I’m still sulking.

Sounds like an awesome day. Well done!!!
Wish I had been there.
Thanks to Rob & everyone else for a truly great day
Many thanks to all for making it a great day out, and special thanks to Rob for getting us all into gear so early in the year.
Really impressed with the Anglesey track, just a pity its so far from East Anglia, but given a good (or do I mean any) excuse I’ll definitely be back
Will I agree, 790miles in one weekend was a lot but such a great track well worth 10% of my limited mileage policy
I need to go again…
A BIG 3 thumbs up then from the East Anglia boys then
Guys I am an hour away if you ever need a stopover
