You have to vote with your feet, but personally I really hope you don’t get a place. If everyone had that same approach then the event wouldn’t go ahead. It is only viable as an exclusive event because of the vast majority who are prepared to stump up 5 months in advance.
Oh dear, where did it all go wrong? It would be great if the day was full of Exiges including a (very) good showing of V6’s (one of which may be disguised as an Evora).
Maybe if the seldom posting wider collective is aware at the same time as posters here, then open it to them all first come first served.
Amongest the best aspects of this day is
meeting old faces
Lots of Loti & little if anything else
Excellent driving standards
Great organisation
Seeing something new on track (i mean new attendees)
If i personally miss out on a place due to procrastination then it’s my fault. Because of all the above, i’d probably be there for the social anyhow.
I said that knowing there will be places available right up to the night before the event, If there are still places available and someone turns up on the day with £220 in their hand shaking at you wont turn them down while there is a spot free.
Tbh if thats your attitude towards me your probably best to ban me from all your trackdays out of your ‘principles’.
I’ll just give this one a miss thank you now out of mine.
This was going to be my “last one” in any case, as quite a number of you knew/had already sussed out,due to my evolving personal/family circumstances
So folks, please feel free to organise future events as you collectively wish - there is absolutely no need for anyone to worry about that causing me any angst
Hopefully everyone who wishes to be there in 2014 will make it, & have a cracking time as usual. Fingers crossed that the weather god is in a good mood again!
Rob, I never meant to cause you any angst in any way, so please forgive me if I have. You have been a champion of exiges.com over the years and everything you have put in has always been appreciated by everyone, including the organising of the annual trackday for us.
The issue was raised earlier in the thread by others and Im just saying what I feel is right, I’m sorry for being out spoken but Im sure there will be others that feel exactly the same.
It is after all the “exiges.com” annual trackday and that should not exclude in any way from the new members joining in from when it is announced.
Jonny, FYI I have been desperately trying to bring a bit of life back to the forum this last few months and rescue it from its death spiral, it is here 365 days a year not just for one or two weekends a year as it appears in your eyes. The more new members that join up here and can ‘join in’ with no provisos can only be good for you come the annual trackday time.
We obviously have differing views on certain things (& let’s leave it at that), but we’ve known each other long enough to not let it get in the way of a good friendship
Would be brill to see you at Anglesey, so please do your best to get there!
Rob : Trying to ensure that sufficient opportunity is given to previous attendees from the community (that extends wider than regular posters) to attend again. Gav : Trying to make sure that the good work he catalysed to reinvigorate the forum is carried forward to 2014 events. Jonny : Trying to protect his business which just won’t work from a risk/cashflow perspective (esp for ‘private’ club events) if everyone just pitches up on the day.
I’d say though that if you can’t be arsed to have booked/paid in two weeks from notification, so by the end of THIS month then you can’t expect your space to be secured and you may end up disappointed. We have after all had a (relative) influx of new members.
Gav bud, I know its hard to give money to someone who has just stated he hopes he’s not in a position to take your money (wtf ) but I for one really hope you’re able to find a way to attend…
It’s a bit upsetting reading this post chaps, life it too short lets just enjoy the event and I am sure there will be plenty of room for all the peeps wanting to attend.
I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who takes time organising these events.
As Rob as indicated we need to start sorting this out going forward too so I reckon a few pints of ex-beater and a good man to man chat over the next event to get some people who are happy to take the baton from Rob.
I’ve no problem with that in principle, as long as the principals involved agree that even the principal principles are not worth missing a day’s hooning for…in principle
