Anglesey 2015

Another brilliant day - even with the weather!

Fantastic pit crew support tommyracer! Learned a lot about driving in the wet…

Thanx Benja & B-A-T & great to see Pesky.

Special thanx to Tim for the session in the Evora - loved it.

Roll on the next one…

Mark

On the way home

2,480km Anglesey - Budapest via alps

Nice one Pierre & good to see you on the day.

Likewise Tim! Great to meet up

Allright…stop rubbing it in! I had a ‘pleasant’ time at Vienna Zoo with the kids , but it wasnt Angelsey :frowning:

Great to meet you Pierre - have a safe trip !

10 out of 10 for you and Victoria making the trip
Pierre, fantastic to see you both. We must seriously think about organising an exiges alpine adventure…

Wheels looked very dirty after Anglesey, that is the trouble with gold ones and it’s easier to take them off the car for cleaning too.
Satin finish doesn’t help either :unamused:

Is that the view you get through the Twin Peaks Pierre

Another big thank you to Ben for the organisation, and to everyone old and new that made the trip … was great to be back at an official Exiges Easter at Anglesey.

We definitely had the wrong power curve, tyres and excuses for the weather in the morning and were very gently learning how to put the power down and getting used to it by the time it was getting dry, at which point it was great fun and the small tweek to suspension settings seemed to help ( Thanks Sean)

We stayed for Saturday and it was simply an Awesome day … car ran perfect right up to the last 30 mins, ( bolt fell out of an engine mounting )

Over 400 miles on track  - just fantastic

Another one to add my thanks to Ben for taking over the annual Exiges cat herding exercise. Maybe if you could do a bit more on the weather front for next year, but other than that a great day.

Also a great opportunity to catch up with folks, that alone always being worth making the trip down.
Car ran faultlessly and still chuckling at the thought of one of the inspection ports on the front of the 2-11 being access to the windscreen washer bottle.

Looking forward to next year already but hopefully get a chance to catch up sooner (fingers crossed Spa).

Wallsy

A great, if cold day. Good to chat with so many of you. Respect for Pierre for making the trip
I must go on track next time, tried to take the place of someone who had dropped out in the afternoon, but wasn’t allowed :frowning:

  Let me know, I have some cracking routes

Brilliant, Bentham Pierre!

Alpine trip . . . Come on Benja, let’s do it.

A belated “Woo hoo!” from me too. Great day, more for the people than my car/bearing/driveshaft but other’s kindness and company had me smiling. Roll on next year! (…and Spa and Donny, etc)

Better the last 30 than the first 30!

Your car is a monster, something pretty darn special.

Come on Ian -lets have an EVO style compare and contrast of all the various cars you drove,…was it 5 in total???

And a big thanks from me also

That was my first time at Anglesey, and I must say I was far more impressed than I thought I’d be (not sure what I was expecting to be honest!). The facilities were fantastic, track was in great condition, and the standard of driving was excellent!
If I held anyone up I do apologise!

There were some impressive bits of kit out on track, with various S1 Exiges/Motorsport Elises seeming to appear out of nowhere in my wing mirrors despite me thinking I was giving it all I could!
I can safely say I don’t need more power, just more talent and bigger balls!

The weather just got better and better throughout the weekend, going from raining inside the garages in the morning :open_mouth: , right through to being blinded through Church(?) at the end of the day as I was trying to wrestle with Caterham Nr.9 for my taster session until the chequered flag :sunglasses: , especially as I had to have a booster cushion to reach the pedals!

Several hearty meals and plenty of beers consumed at the Premier Inn was spot on too.

The drive home on Saturday topped it off, cruising through Snowdonia with Jasonp80 in close company, some great roads and scenery. It was shame that Pierre, Victoria, Jason and I were unable to get a ride at Zip World, but at least I can now say I’ve driven my Exige in a quarry!..car park

Looking forward to the next event

Finally got round to uploading some video…

Clicky for Anglesey 2015 Video

Coooool. Misty start looked more evocative than my Luton airport hotel start

But what’s the secret password to see behind the last minute of black screen? Is this the hidden bonus track of the drive home?
