I agree with Tim’s suggestion, that suggested hierarchy is much more orientated around the activity and interest on the forum.
yeah get the active headers up to the top, fold the others into the remaining forums.
I disagree.
Personally, I really don’t think doing this would make any difference. The site is a resource with sections that all and sundry can access. I think ‘micro managing’ this by altering headings etc will have zero impact as to how many people would then post on the site etc. The current headings are quite specific and I think neatly enough divide the site into readable sections.
As for the ‘ghost town’ comment, I and I am sure many others have trawled and still trawl through those sections that have not been ‘active’ for some time, either looking for something using the ‘search’ facility, or just out of plain interest! Even the ‘muppet show’ section still provides some value if you want a laugh etc!
As a general ‘concept’, much as I enjoy reading new posts etc etc, why should we measure the effectiveness and value of the site by the number of daily posts? This is not ‘Facebook’ with the need for a gillizion ‘friends’! If people want to post, chat, banter on here then that is great… but we should not be putting pressure on us and think the site is dead just because there is not a huge daily haul of posts. I like others on here look at seloc… which yes indeed has a pretty active daily post count. But that is a non specific Lotus site and IMHO, a lot of the posts made there are probably not worth looking at.
As a closing thought, how many posts have all the new guys on here made since the initial ‘rush’? The novelity soon wears off it seems! Or simply they too use the site as I have described above which is great and all part of the community and hobby that we all enjoy.
is…a chargecooler

The old counter at the side with the top posters in the last 30 days used to promote some low level competition.
Even if some of the content was light, at least it was content.

He doesn’t want to come back, he suggests we go to him. He’s not banned but some of his posts along with a few others went missing, he’s kind of taken exception to that. We’re more than welcome over there though.
I do think that a reshuffle of the topics is needed.
For example I have a brake bias question, it’s not S1/2/3 related, or K series, just a tech question. Seloc layout is easier to post in IMO.

I think more could be done with the meets & events like on MLOC and SELOC , more than just track days and the odd drive out in the same places , pretty sure there used to be more going on with more people chasing members to get them there .
