a048 LTS

I’ve done a search but not having much joy

Can you point me in the right direction for where i will find some a048 LTS rears?

They don’t seem to last very long!

Just get ‘M’ compound
LTS only available at dealers

bookatrack used to do them I think?

Adams and Page for M 048’s and M 888’s

They supply the Elise Trophy

Is there any difference in the wear rate between the two?

Remember the LTS ones have a stiffer side wall than the M 048’s.

Yep, as recent as 2011 in my case.

How many miles do you guys usually get out of a set of rears?

I’m thinking I’ll be needing 2 sets a year covering approx 5k miles. Is that normal?

Sounds about right i get about 5500 miles out of mine.

M compound is used by the trophy guys.
I think it may be slighly softer than LTS but cheaper and MORE GRIP!!
I think I get 1500 miles or 4 track days ish out of rears. It’s a consumable.

More grip will do just fine thank you!

I might try some of those next

Still a little worried though as if I buy the tyres I don’t really want a kwik fit muppet to fit my tyres and mark my forged alloys, any recommendations Warwickshire area?

Yeah M’s are loads better than LTS. Plus with M’s all round the turn in and all round general handling is improved. I think LTS fronts must be made of granite!

They certainly never seem to wear out, on a hot day they do melt though!

Anybody tried the AO50’s ?

Are they available in Uk yet and are they any good ?

I heard Paul Golding has got a batch to test for Lotus cup/trophy for 2013.

Interesting Henry, how are you?
Looking at the web blurb, they look like what Martin Brunble would describe as the ‘option’ tyre. They certainly don’t look like they’ll give you many miles.

Its interesting about the front tyres, I’ve just had a look at my fronts and they look brand new but the rears are shot.

Is that because there is minimal weight over the front end and not as much scrubbing as the rear?

RWD  mon ami.

plus 1 enthusiastic driver!

I think Lotus with the LTS compound built in some safety under steer by making the front tyres rock hard. On M compound A048’s the front and rear wear is similar

How many miles/km can I expect to get out of a set M compound A048s?

Im doing approx 6-8000kms a year mostly on the road, with 4-6 trackdays a year, so Im curious how long such a set will last me. So far I have gone through two sets of rears and there is still life left in the fronts after a total of 15500 miles
