Hate to disagree with this, but personally speaking, I wouldn’t want to heavily track a VHPD car…
As standard it will break, and the lack of reliability will cause you pain and heartache… if you go down the route of fixing it over and over, you will spend a lot of money. Done properly, a Honda will be far more reliable and hence enjoyable on track, not to mention the possibility of further bhp down the line if you feel you want it.
I have driven mine pretty damn hard during the time I’ve had it, and mechanically it has been bombproof. You may do the odd CV boot or joint, but to be honest, most of those issues have been sorted these days in the well proven conversions.
I don’t think there are many who regret going down the Honda conversion route.
Hmmmm, I think I will be the first to say I do not really like the carbon tat exige… The seats are not nice and it does not really float my boat, maybe I am getting old but I think I would take mine standard with the upgraded sports seats and a 190 vhpd. Its a classic, why spoil it.
As above, if I wanted to go all out on a track weapon I would start with an S1 and re shell it… That would not only be cheaper but would save another classic.
I think at some point the vhpd cars value’s will climb above that of the converted cars.
Best S1 exige colour is lazer blue with silver wheels, Pesky has a lot to answer for.
