A new exhaust from Jim

Worth the wait and hopefully allows me to do quiet days as well.

A few modifications required due to my diffuser and rear panel setup but nothing very hard :nerd:

Oooo shiny … Good idea so im guessing just a case of bolting it on when you do track days.

Nice…

New rear panel needed now though to accomodate.

Rear panel only needed to be cut out behind where the number plate is, so you can’t even tell when the number plate is fitted.
You can’t see in the pictures but due to the large diffuser I had to lower it by 45mm from the bottom of the plinth. makes the diffuser look even better but I might have to make a nicer looking way of lowering the diffuser.

Well done Jim & Ade, looking good fellas

Hi can you show how you have fixing the up of the rear panel in detail please

ade, i had the first one of these, JSR had an old school metal number plate welded onto the 2nd silencer so it could be used on the road.

Interesting idea

Mind you don’t burn your shins on that in the paddock ade

That’s not the problem for Ade…mind you don’t burn your thighs though bud huh

Hexagonal threaded boss welded to the straps. Then number plate fitted to that. It’s a bit Heath Robinson, but does the job. Just about!!

Cruel :open_mouth:

There is thread on here somewhere by Boothy, he fitted the 211 plinth/eliminator originally.

it’s just if you drive to track the exhaust needs ages to cool enough to fit the 2nd silencer, then when it does it’s a 30min fiddly job to get it attached. so i just fit it the night before now.

But mostly true

It is a bit Heath Robinson and everyone seems to have done it in a slightly different way, I used very long bolts and used the original holes with some spacers to make it all fit, to be honest it is quite easy when you get all the other stuff off the car.

Jeeeez-us - the additional silencer is not meant to be used on the road!

You had the original 4.75"dia silencer - I’m using a 6"dia now - that’s the madness needed to pass circuits like Bedford if you’re running a tuned SC’d 2zz-ge. But away from the circuits, why drive a hoover?

lol

lol cos it’s a pain in the ass to fit when i arrive at track

Looking good Ade, but what is supporting the weight of that second silencer? If it is just the clips going round the primary silencer, then I reckon the second silencer is going to move. That is a lot of weight slung out the back. Especially after a few hours of continuous bouncing up and down and vibration. Can you get a support from either side of the second selencer up to the end of the longeron on each side??
