Rear panel only needed to be cut out behind where the number plate is, so you can’t even tell when the number plate is fitted.
You can’t see in the pictures but due to the large diffuser I had to lower it by 45mm from the bottom of the plinth. makes the diffuser look even better but I might have to make a nicer looking way of lowering the diffuser.
it’s just if you drive to track the exhaust needs ages to cool enough to fit the 2nd silencer, then when it does it’s a 30min fiddly job to get it attached. so i just fit it the night before now.
It is a bit Heath Robinson and everyone seems to have done it in a slightly different way, I used very long bolts and used the original holes with some spacers to make it all fit, to be honest it is quite easy when you get all the other stuff off the car.
Jeeeez-us - the additional silencer is not meant to be used on the road!
You had the original 4.75"dia silencer - I’m using a 6"dia now - that’s the madness needed to pass circuits like Bedford if you’re running a tuned SC’d 2zz-ge. But away from the circuits, why drive a hoover?
Looking good Ade, but what is supporting the weight of that second silencer? If it is just the clips going round the primary silencer, then I reckon the second silencer is going to move. That is a lot of weight slung out the back. Especially after a few hours of continuous bouncing up and down and vibration. Can you get a support from either side of the second selencer up to the end of the longeron on each side??
