2bular 4-1 manifold

Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone who has had the factory 260 upgrade and then had the 4-1 mani has had to have a re-map after?
I know some of the katana boys have had too but not heard about the factory remap.
TIA

Opening the can of worms there!

Should be okay if you have the std 260 map…I must stress the SHOULD!

Sorry mate I should have checked previous threads 1st. Thanks for the link!

I knew there was a reason why I never read the above thread. Im sorry I ever fucking asked hahaha!!! Well it was a pretty interesting read! I think ill prob leave the mani and just go with the sports cat and back box, unless anyone wants to tell me something different.

Probably the safest bet, but to be honest if you are prepared to get it remapped then that would be the best as you will get more power from it in the long run, people have seen peak power gains of 10hp and midrange torque gain of 20lb/ft
Why not contact Essex Autosport and see what they will charge you?

Ziiiiiiiinnnnnnngggggggg BOOOOOOOOM melt

ade that’s what I did after fitting 2bular manifold, sports cat, GT3
got the then Sinclares to Gotham tune
loving it!

Putting all this afore mentioned thread together, I reckon that the ‘Lotus 260 ECU’ re-map, with the 440cc injectors, retaining the OEM exhaust manifold will be OK as that is what is on the 211’s!!!. I think that as soon as you go to the 2ubular manifolds and then get a much improved flow rate, Ade’s suggestion of a specific re-map has got to be sensible…

Still not sure if the ‘standard’ fuel pump really needs to be changed for the uprated one (as CN’s do) is a requirement with the above… I believe the ‘Gotham’ map is quite happy with the OEM pump up to about 270 BHP…

Already on my second mate!!!

i have a question for the lads who had fitted the 2bular 4-1 manifold

i bought a second hand 4-1 (1st version)

was wondering what gasket do you fit with it? original Lotus gasket? or another one?

Original , but beware of using the same bolts with the 2bular cos its flange is thinner and the bolts bottom out in their holes …
Crudely I just used a couple of thick washers but would have preferred to fit studs if time wasn’t an issue.

Best to check with Jim at 2Bular.

Brilliant … Just what A busy man wants over Xmas … giving free tech support for something he has’nt supplied !

Had some tooling made up to press my own gasket to suit the bigger bore.

hasn’t supplied? even if i didn’t buy from him directly, he made it and i bought him a H2 silencer last summer

as jim is a great guy, i got a quick answer yesterday and hopefully he will supply me the gasket :sunglasses:

Yep, believe it or not Jim actually does try to answer questions and be helpful.

He’s a busy man so you can’t expect him to be around whenever you pick up the phone or send an email.

my mate is installing the manifold

but he’s not sure if he can use the 3 stock bolts (M10 25mm), they look too long to him now as the 2bular is thinner than the stock manifold.
he thightened them as a test but couldn’t do it the max

what bolts did you use?

Ok I give in. !

me too !
