Still really not sure what you are trying to achieve here ?
What’s your aim ? - A trackday monster ? An ultimate road car ? A straight line drag racer ?

I’m not trying to achieve anything, other than a bit of fun.
no of course not

I hope you put it back next to my car then
No idea about the quality of these wheels…but they are similar to Braid.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not having a pop (honestly!) it’s a big project and a lot of work/money, I’m just not sure what the point is -
Christian had a few targets when he built his I think… 200mph, and some interesting firsts that hadn’t been done before…nice engine management systems/wiring, etc.
Gav built his up from scratch to be a track beast…
Johnny is building his to be ultimate NA/carbon fetish beast…
Yours doesn’t look like its’ going to be a track monster, and I’m not sure what it’ll be like on the road if you are putting mahoosive wheels and race uprights on it… it just seems… confused.

I wanted a good all round car, something that is quick on track, but also reliable for long motorway journeys or European driving holidays. It will be a road car that is also fast on track. That’s about it.
I’m not interested in the 200mph target, but I may try Santa pod once or twice, I’m probably going to run it with a soft top, and it is having a reasonably sized boot.
It should also look good, and for the money there wasn’t any other car that I fancied.
Thats one reason why Ive been very careful what I spend on mine…really dont want to put too much cash into the car, otherwise I might has well purhased something else with GT3 in the title - My conversion has actually cost very little really, which is another reason why I’m reluctant to spend 5k on Braids.
Im not sure the GT3 clams are ideal for a GT car though. The original ones Junks were selling were very light, but also very thin. Not sure how resilient they’ll be on the motorway against stones etc.
With that goal a standard 240s would have done the job tbf
[size:17pt]WTF
Johnny is building his to be ultimate NA/carbon [size:17pt]fetish beast…
[size:17pt]Track day! [size:17pt]Track day Dave…[size:17pt]Track day you Tosser lol
For what its worth Greg I reckon Dave has a point, take your time mate, it’s got loads of potential. I saw it recently and it still looks like you have a bit to do, wishbone refurb, brakes, cabin that sort of thing. Maybe you’ll make the perfect all rounder, that could be quite cool. I’d also have to go with 240R’s on the front, would look mega!
Sorry Jonny - Ultimate NA/TrackDay fetish S2 carbon beast.
I haven’t seen the car except for the photos here and on Seloc, but get the stuff that is really important done first that is hard to do later - like putting a proper cage in the thing… sticking a 500bhp engine in a car like that and taking it on track with the aim of driving it anywhere near its capability without a proper cage is just crazy in my opinion.
Unless of course, the aim is just out to impress with pub talk and look great in the carpark, in which case its gonna be fantastic
Sorry - that sounded harsher than it was meant, I hope you take it the right way.
A cage will be going in it at some point.
The really aren’t any objectives with this car, I’m doing it because I can, and because I want to.
I’m probably in my last year before I have kids, so if I don’t do it now, it will be a lot harder later.
Besides, what is the point of earning money unless you can spend it on something you enjoy?
I’m surprised Frank hasn’t been along yet to wave his negativity wand.

Absolutely agree
Was just trying to help really - it’s a lot easier if you get things like a cage done early on - and you save money in the long run on labour etc…
Nah - Frank loves big wheels too !
Nah - Frank loves big [color:#FF0000]tashes too !

EFA
Or a nice Evora S
I;m really really interested to see how the whole geometry thing works out.
Handling really is going to be key, otherwise It’ll be like those cars I used to ‘build’ on Gran Turismo - braaa braaa braa in a straight line but went off at the next corner
It might be an idea to look at maybe fitting some of these to allow wider front wheels…
if you used them as a basis and made them look a bit more “factory” and less “ripspeed” they might work ok.
What size wheels did GT3s have , Wouldn’t that be the way to go ?
