2010 Tonykart EVR chassis, Ogden rotax max 125cc engine with power valve, magnesium hubs, magnesium wheels, mojo slicks, alfono lap timer/tach/engine temp/computer, all sorts of other goodies and oh… an XL seat to get all my 16 stone in!
Just a bit of fun a few of times a month and excellent value for money when compared to trackdays. Only downside with the rotax is the maintenance and the fact the engine needs rebuilding every 30 hours or so.
Fast, awesome fun, highly recommend you buy one! [/quote]
Have to say the first drive was fantastic , proper quick and nothing like 4 stroke twin engine hire karts , cornering speed is amazing, I’m lucky enough to live near PFI but it’s always packed on practice days with the pro and semi pro karters with the huge transporters & pit crew spending big a season so it’s a bit daunting to get on for the first time . I first started in prokarts but my first time in a 2 stroke took my breath away! Once the tyres have warmed up the grip is excellent. If you are going to try any other tracks do a quick google search and you can find out what the best gearing is. What day is the ‘owner driver’ day at PFI?

Practice days are Friday-Saturday and some Tuesdays , Race weekends are the last weekend of every month, last race weekend there was over 200 karts there , 45 for the day and you need to be a member of the Trent valley kart club and thats 55 for the year , a second driver is 5 for the day.
I have the Track Data app on my phone that tells you sprocket sizes and other setup info for each track , i had no idea just how adjustable the karts are from sprockets to carb jets to chassis to tyre pressure .
Please tell me more Moomin, just tried to search for that app but am not having any joy, whats the name?
Im currently trying to find the sweet spot at my local track so I can lift the inside rear wheel when cornering. Because the rear axle is fixed it means that if the inside rear wheel does not lift it essentially scrubs its way around. Im on the heavier side for karting and its proving tricky!
There are literally that many variables it makes it a very interesting way to understand chassis setup.
