Yet another Lotus

Decided to pull the Exige off the track and clean it up a bit. Racing is really too hard on such a rare car. So my brother and I decided to build a new car to race. To make life easy we bought this one off a customer. It started life as an S1 Elise and went through a ground up build into a SC Honda powered Motorsport car. I am now in the middle of swapping my Pilbeam wishbones, uprights and brakes, AIM dash etc to the new car and will swap the Exige back to original spec and use it as a road car (keeping the Honda of course)

The new car is fast! It weighs under 700kg and it is really noticeable. It has a full carbon body with is very thin and light.

Its the Civic manifold the DC5 sits the SC “flat” … I think Dave is considering a change by sound of it

Hope to see it in the flesh around April Dave

That looks awesome Dave!! Well done!!

Thanks guys. The DC5 manifold will be going on with intercooler soon.

Dave, that is the sex!

Pretty much what I want to do eventually… have decided the Exige is too much of a rare and precious beast to butcher into a race car, will probably get an Elise and make it up as a racer eventually.

Where did the carbon clams come from? They aussie-made ones?

Fair play to you mate, you don’t bloody do things by half over there in the West Island of New Zealand

Carbon MS panels came from Peter Landan’s (Lotus Motorsport Australai) moulds which I now own.

lol

looks like a nice Honda conversion, congratulations to this beauty

Dave, the car looks fanfrickintastic!!

In the last shot you look like your sitting on the floor boards, either that or your 4 foot tall.

That’s my co-driver Scott driving. He is not short - they are MOG seats mounted so your bum is just above the floor.
