After I locked my car keys in my car at Snetterton, & wished I could have taken the bloody roof off to get in
Big thanks to Tony (Fingers) Pearman, & Lord Cole of Hethel over Caterham, for an exemplarily display of how car thieves operate, in sorting the job out
Easy - unlock car, open door, re-lock with key still in the lock, remove key & stick key it in ignition to unlock steering lock to move a front wheel (original intention of exercise, as I wanted to access wheel arch), leave key in ignition, then shut the door.
In order words, I was a complete tw@t, & it served me right for not thinking things through cos I was in a rush!
Couldn’t wait to get home last night & have me teeth (all 3 of them) shaken out, whilst driving on the cobbles Oop North, & me carbide lamps were getting pretty dim too
Its also easier to tell if its locked or unlocked in an s2 due to the little stalks that pop up like on a “normal car”. My previous lotus used to bug me because in order to avoid what pesky did you find yourself squinting at the lock barrel to see if its horizontal or vertical. I know it will go against the purists but central locking is a bonus IMHO.
