Have still got it at the moment, the exhaust needs sorting (baffles), I don’t think there’s much point in putting it up for sale before the new year now, so I will have it over the festive period

The main part of the damage was the crank, which was replaced, plus quite a few other bits such as the oil pump, head gasket, timing belt and I had an AP racing clutch stuck on it as well. Indeed, bankruptcy looms, so come the new year she will be finding a new owner…

  1. Nobody “snitched”, I kinda think I’m in the position to read my own BBS…

  2. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

That you then? Now we all know what special tools you used to mend the Exige .

Can anyone advise how difficult it is to replace the battery and how much I should be paying for one. Due to the little beastie being kept locked away for the last 3 months the battery is Knackered and wont take a charge ?!

Cheers

Rob

Rob there is a recent thread on this very subject…

Awww… boss… i missed all the juicy bits…

What a surprise! I tried to lighten the mood of this topic but there are still snidey comments about the exige. Why dont you get a life and realise that there is a world outside of exiges.com.
Whilst there seem to be some genuinely friendly people on here there also seem to be some who have a little circle which you must need special qualifications to enter. Although i have no pictures of my exige when it was damaged i have looked at ‘phils’ exige on his website and can safely say it is the worst damaged exige i have ever seen, that includes breaker only vehicles we have had. How he has the nerve to complain about my car i do not know when the chassis on his is clearly poking through the bodywork like a dogs (broken) back leg.
I never came on here to argue to just to give answers to the speculation about my car. It obviously seems you have made your minds up that i am a liar, that i am selling an unfit for road use car and in some cases i am being threatened with having my teeth knocked out.Great friendly site i feel, i will definately recommend it to whoever buys my exige.

This is a picture of the door from my exige. This was the most badly damaged part, the rear clam is the original one repaired, the only other part changed was the sill cover. Im really not bothered what you think of my car as i know it has been repaired properly but whatever i say probably wont change your minds.

Evosal, I think you’ve taken that comment the wrong way…

Did you not notice the winking smiley after it?? I don’t think there was any malice in it…

Oh come come EVOSAL this has to be the worst damaged Exige you’ve ever seen - click

FIX THAT! [NB. humour]

We really are friendly - honest! But I still feel, as per my previous comments, you didn’t turn up in a passive manner.

I do like the door shot, it looks like ‘Alien Exige’ where a baby one has burst out! [NB. again humour, nothing negative]

For me there’s almost little point having an Exige without being on Exiges.com. You get better (certainly cheaper!) service from us than Lotus! You’ll be doing your buyer a disservice but not point them in our direction.

Ian

That yellow exige is quite bad but im sure we could repair it using some fibreglass and filler!!
Maybe i was a bit quick to defend myself there but im just going off how the tone has been in previous replies. Now it has all calmed down maybe i can come on here and get any information i may need and maybe come on some track days and see these machines in their natural environment.

LOL Fiberglass and filler

I’d just use a smidge of T-Cut and that should do it

See what a bit of t-cut and polish did with my SC

Is this peter barlow off coronation street (the one with two wives)

And did you honestly think that picture would not raise a humourous comment ??

The longeron poking out the back of my car is mounted on the rear sub frame and is classed as a replacable item, the ‘tub’ made for Lotus by Hydro Aluminium is mostly a non-repairable item, that is where the difference lies.
