If applied in the right places it would keep most noises in check I think
It should last OK, it seems to be taking it apart and stuff that damages it, also if it rubs against anything it is instantly knackered. It seems quite robust when brand new, but once it has got hot and cold a few times it tends to go very brittle and damages easier when touched or disturbed.

Sean - thanks for the answers - I just had another look at the stuff I got and it suggests that it can also be painted after fitting - that might help maintain the integrity once fitted but obviously not if you were unwrapping it.

Not got my exhaust on the car yet so can’t be sure - but i would think that it would help a bit - if only with the avoidance of metal to metal contact and any resultant tizzing.
