they dont I already answered this question for you !!!

you can buy after market HID and fit those but there is a legal issue because you dont have washers or a self leveling kit.

Personally I hate xenon lights with a vengence.
Sure they may be great from a drivers view point, but when you are low down in an Exige, with a Range Rover / X5 coming towards you on a smallish country lane, I have to stop to wait for it to pass by.
They are so bright to be a menace on the road.

I’ve got main and dipped beam HID installed in my car. The first mod I did to the car. Got the kit from elise shop.

gggrrrrrr

Payback…Without HIDs shinning under the oncoming headlights you are driving blind…get em

I think that’s because you’re attracted to them. (no joke!)
I’ve learned myself to look away from headlights in general. It really helps!

And yes, it’s great from a drivers perspective. Vision as well as visibility is improved in a great way.

There’s no factory option.
I think Lotus can’t get away with the sticker in the boot if they install HID’s. (the 50kg sticker has nothing to do with capabilities of the car. If you tell people they’re not allowed to put more then 50kg in the car, a two seater will never be tilted back, so you don’t need headlamp adjusters.
Also the washers will not be easy to do.

It’s a shame HID’s are bound to so many regulations, to be fairly honest, I see more cars running around with incorrect fitted Halogen bulbs, pointing at your eyes, then dazzling HID’s.
