All I said was an Exige is more track focused than a 111r for someone who was thinking of buying one and asking the key differences…
And now I’ve been told the Exige is slower due to the HUGE 27kg weight penalty and that even with the tyres and suspension on a standard Exige the 111R will still be faster and better car…
Oh well… I give up sometimes… it’s much more friendly here… well there are those S1 one owners… but I’ll let them off on that one!! At least it’s friendly banter here…!
Well, I went from a S1 190 Exige to a 111R No regrets
The exige out of the box is far & away the better track car. The reverse is true on road use (for me).
I love 'em all & would happily have a S2 Exige in the ‘right spec’ sometime in the future, but for now I’ll concentrate on some suspension upgrades & the revised ECU for my road & track fun.
Too much of the whats better banter for 99% of us boils down to driver skill & circuit knowledge, which is the best place to invest time & money*
I’ve had both a 111R and an S2 Exige, the 111R is just sublime on the road, better than the Exige, on the track the reverse is true, the 111R is just too softly sprung to compete with an exige…still great fun though
South, it was me Shangani was chasing round in that vid To be honest it wasn’t so much the set up that was making me struggle - car was just running on Lotus Sport’s standard track settings and I’d stiffened the FARB. It was more the big lad sat next to me and the brake judder.
If you watch, Shangers is a lot better on the brakes and was driving bloody well that day too.
Just fitted some AP5000s today and am hoping to take it out at Donnington on Sunday to have a play.
exactly my thoughts how well do u both know the circuit ? and lets face it … its a lot easier to follow than lead
when i first followed another exige through a set of bends i couldnt believe the speed i was going i dont thing i would of got to those speeds without seeing it first!!
