For the market sector, not a bad vehicle… and for now very tax friendly. Good tow vehicle for the Exige
whats the skinny on the tax situation… a lot of people mention it as an asdvantage, but what exactly is the benefit?
The loophole is being closed soon (2007?) but the double-cabs make a good family vehicle, being 4-seater and all, but it’s considered a commercial vehicle meaning you can claim the VAT back and you only pay 500 tax as benefit in kind.
but when you sell the vehicle you have to sell it as VAT qualifying, and pay the VAT to the revenue - right? so net net you dont get any benefit? well, other than making the initial purchase cost 17.5% lower…

No, it doesn’t work like that.
First off the VAT is fully reclaimable, unlike normal vehicles.
The personal tax on having a “company” commercial vehicle is only 500 rather than the stupid amounts this government charges.
Ask your accountant.
