My front pads are just about gone & so a new set are needed.
S1 VHPD mostly road - a few track days a year (but this may start growing…)
Done a search but it wasn’t too good.
What do you reckon???

I have Pagids RS 14’s very good, squeal a bit though. RS 42’s good compromise.
Another vote for RS14s, I quite like the squealing, reminds me of the Le Mans paddock in the early nineties for some reason.
Anyway good pads I don’t seem to have probs when they’re cold either, but I have heard some do.

Pagids (either 14s or 42s) will be fine, but not inexpensive.
I reckon Mintex 1144s will suit you well, as would SBS Trackspec - I’ve used both these in the past (as have others here), & been very pleased with their performance.
I’ve got some practically new SBS fronts, which I can sell to you for a very good price
I’ll try & ring you tomorrow
Green stuff pads take a bit of beating for road use - and they are largely dust free which makes wheel cleaning easier.
Got Ferrodo organics on mine, EBC green were disapointing.
I have found Performance Friction to be better than the Pagids in performance and last longer. The pagids are also prone to the last third crumbling.
Oh and the Peformance Friction are cheaper
PF01 fronts
PF97 rears

Any links to were you get them from and how much they cost?

oooo you gat me!!!
Nothing in it for me, I just can get them via the race team and happy to pass the benefit on.
Sorry, Damon, wasn’t trying to catch you out at all - in fact just trying to help you
PS SeanB swears by the PF pads for his monster power Audi S1 Racer

RS14s, full-stop, end of story, walk away.
SBS are being discontinued, or at least for the Elise.
Last set I bought I was told they were probably not going to be available in future.
A shame as pound for pound they were hard to beat.
may try the PF next time.
Has anyone tried Randy’s ‘carbon loraine’ pads that he mentions on the Hofmann’s website.
They sound pretty good from what he says and that’s good enough for me at least.
PF’s - switched to them from RS14s on Seans recomendation and will not be changing back.
I have used Performance Friction before on other cars and have been very happy with them. Worked very good for trackdays, they bite good and live long. But they did make quite some noise for road use.
Anyone have the part number for the pads that fits the 2-pot (original) lotus calipers? It is always a pain finding the right part.
I use PF01’s all round and they are very very good IMO.
You can buy them directly from PF

I have just got these on mine and totally agree! I did however get them on Russ T’s recommendation and see he is now saying PF are better… sod
Seriously though, I love mine, the bite is fantastic and they really dont seem to need much warming up at all. I have found that the ABS is cutting in quite alot on the salty roads now but then you boys dont need to worry about that
To clarify - I have them on the race car and won’t be going back. I have not tried them on a road car but they do not seem to take much warming up.
