The one thing I really liked about the TTX36 Inline was that it was a compact unit without needing to mount the canisters. What’s you opinion in the rest of the spec at the start of the post? Is there anything else you can recommend? Can you supply parts or do you recommend someone that would look after me.
Upgraded roll bar - yes! Go for the pilbeam one (make sure they send you a straight one though!!)
Nitron spherical bushes - yes!
Upgrade toe links - yes! Nitron ones are expensive and there is no data to say they are any better/stronger than other cheaper uprated kits, They do look nice though!
GT hubs- the S1 can go pretty low on the standard hubs and wishbones with no problem running at 100mm on the front. Not sure how low you want to go but if your still using it on the road to get to the trackdays then 100 mm is low enough, You lose the handbrake with the GT uprights but gain a little in camber available… Would advise you save the money to spend on trackdays as I really don’t think you’ll see a 2k improvement on how the car feels.
Ohlins dampers, oh yes!!
Avon zzr a good tyre and I would use them over 48’s now, last longer and are far more stable over the 48’s on longer track sessions.
The remote cannisters on a set of 2-ways (doenst matter which make) can very neatly be tucked away under the front access cover and in the rear boot of an S1. They won’t get weathering damage like on the S2 that attaches them to the wishbones…
Also you can easily get to the bottom of the dampers and the cannisters to adjust them. You need to remove wheels to get at the ttx settings.
Nice to here from you again, that was a few years ago! I seem to remember you buying something off me and possibly turning up in an estate car. Yes, just got it back together and about to take it to bits again to get rid of that gap between the body and wheels. Hope you are keeping well, do you still have your Exige?
I’m glad you said that, your not the first to recommend him. He recommended himself at the Autosport show at the weekend. Looks like I’ll be having a day in Barnsley soon!
Only the front I’m afraid - If you are having a set made up, then you won’t need the hoses as long as they are on mine, its just what they came with when I got that set.
Yeah they work great in that position, keeps them away from all the shite and you can get to the adjusters easily to fiddle from under the front access cover.
From what I remember seeing on other S1 Exiges, the rear cannisters mount nicely to the rear roll bar stays and accessed through the engine bay cover - similar to what you see here on the GT3’s
Well I thought about that same on the S2 but the S1 has the finishers in the way. I was going leave them until I find a suitable place. May fit well on the boot floor, I think I’ve seen some there before.
Don’t fit them to the boot floor, it gets way too hot. If you want to avoid the rear stays, you can mount them just inboard of the rear clam uprights under the wing.
