Winter tyres on the track

I have a very good set of winter tyres on the S2, question is - do I remove them off the car and sell 'em or keep them on the car and wear them out on a track day or two ?

Ok the handling will be interesting - but am I wasting my time by keeping them on and having fun (well sort of) or would it be best to get shot of them and get some prpoer tyres on.

Seems a waste to either chuck them or receive peanuts in exhange for them.

//confused//.

Use them on the track definately.

It will only give you less grip, it won’t change the balance of the car, so it’ll be really good practice and give you a chance to get used to the car without pushing to the speeds that proper track tyres will allow.

I can imagine the sniggers in the pit lane and behind my back…

‘’ look at that tosser in the Exige, he has the wrong tyres on…‘’

Then sell them to me…

Don’t worry, I get that all the time, in particular, from Special K & his groupies

I promise I won’t say anything…

Anyway…you slow S2 owners get laughed at anyway

How about keeping them as winter use road tyres (they will be a lot better than 48s in the winter) and get a second set of lightweight rims (7" wide fronts and 8" wide rears, the 240r wheel would be perfect) with yokos for summer and track. Thats if you plan to use it in the winter…

Not intending to the use the car during the winter months, so the odd trip out will have to be on the Yoko’s or Toyo’s.

… anyway, we have just moved house and I have cleared out the garage to make way for the Exige, I will only get it in the neck if I start to clutter the place up again.
