Winter tyres - NLC

Starting to think about winter tyres for my two new barges

Anyone got any pearls of wisdom based on experience last year ?

Looking at tyre review sites the Conti’s,Dunlops and Vredesteins seem to get good reviews

I have just bought another set of forged wheels, that have winter tyres on them. I dont want them, so they will be up for sale.

Hello, new here.

I’ve used Vredestein Snowtrac3’s on her family barge and Wintrac Extremes on a 996 turbo through the last two winters.

No trouble with either of them through the worst of the snow.

Have a set of Yokohama ones for my Seat. Changed it from trying to kill me at 10 mph, to similar to driving when its really wet.

Winter tyres have started a new sport however, for the evil minded. When you have a loon following you really closly when theres snow on the ground, see the reaction on their faces when they can’t go around a corner when you can!!

Dont hang around if you’re thinking of getting some.

We’ve had to buy in advance for our customers and lets just say there wasn’t as many I’d like. Looks like demand is going outstrip supply.

Expecting a cold, long Winter then ?

hope not  - I was just amazed at how few sets were available to pre-order.

Just done this for our 3 series estate. Got one of the last two sets available. If you’re going to do it, do it now.
