Why can't you drive the Exige slowly?

Is it me, or is it practically impossible to drive the Exige slowly? I know I am new to being a priviliged Exige owner, (4 weeks and counting), but I am finding it increasingly harder, in fact impossible, to drive the car slowly. Being “forced” to drive the Exige every day for the next few days, whilst I find a replacement Elan M100 for the one I just sold, I feel I should appologise in advance to all road users…I love IT.-Gman

I drive mine very slowly due to the loud banging noise it makes from the engine compartment!

Gman - know what you mean!! Exige is just so eager to be driven fast - problem is keep forgetting where gatsos are in the area! - must get road angel or do you guys have any alternative, better suggestions?M100 brilliant car!! - I have an SE which was going to sell, but have now had second thoughts, its the ideal companion for the Exige - no jealousy!!

Hey Simon,You have an M100 as well! nice… I have had one for 10 years, and just sold it, with 130,000 miles! Now need a replacement one, so if you know of one going anywhere… I have found a few with sub 30k miles, which is the kind of thing I am after…Gotta love the Exige though…

How slowly IS slowly, since the Emerald was fitted its not much of problem in slow moving traffic 10-15 mph. Jenvey throttle bodies will make it even smoother, but i’m not spending �500+ just for a smooth idle and slow running, the lumpyness is part of the character [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

Gman will keep eye open, M100 30k milers are getting a bit thin on ground now - got 70k on mine. Not being used much at mo, as Exige needs regular exercise.

my brother has just told me he has decided to sell his elan s2, dont know if anyone is interested but here is the spec. elan s2 1995 N-reg 56000 miles full service history aqua blue air con etc

Thanks for the reply Kieron! Just picked up an Elan M100 though, with 9K on the clock! and its treating me well! The S2, its not the one for sale down at haydon lotus is it? Saw one on the forecourt the other week, with the same spec…The Exige is enjoying life with me though, just in case anybody is wondering why we’re talking about M100’s.
