If you want to see how flexible an F1 nose isn’t, swing by one day. They’re properly solid, and surprisingly heavy!
And heavy lol…
I like it and think you are all being a bit petty. S1, S2 whatever S3 it’s evolved, what doesn’t in the car industry. Good looking car, like the colour too
Now I’m curious as to why flexing bodywork is a problem ??
Shoulda bought a steel car …

Now you’re just being silly for the sake of it, bearing in mind this started as a discussion about the effectiveness of a rear wing attached firmly to the chassis
Tend to agree with John. If you stand on some scales and weight 14 stones you aren’t going to weigh any less if you put a cushion on the scales and then stand on that. The cushion will compress but the same force will transfer through.
Agreed with the above. However can you work out how fast before it will deflect and it hits the floor? 100mph? 120mph? 60mph?
Lets not do the comparing a lotus with a plane, F1 car, Indy car, bird thing agiain!
Maybe if a Lotus evolved over a few million years due to natural selection it would be really efficient?
Or become a Porsche???

No no no. All cars would evolve into Lotus.
The subtle point is that DB said this is aimed at the Asian market.
Fact is to make significant turnover and profit that is where Lotus have to sell cars.
Lotus brand is stronger there and they have not had to endure the product that we have … meaning there is a huge market just sitting there. Plenty of young Chinese with disposable income who cant afford a Ferrari or Lambo yet but who still want to make a statement.
Take a look at any upmarket car company figures to see where the volume is increasing …
Hey I resemble that remark…
You “resemble” that remark???
I would have you down as “resembling” Snr from American Chopper matey.
Hope they get their invoices paid!

Wasn’t it RTN in Norfolk that built the Bentley’s? I think they did the carbon bodywork for the 300RR Sport Exige too. I think the RTN factory became the Team Lotus factory too.
Yep - that was the name I was struggling to remember - so has the company effectively gone now then?
and what are those nasty plastic grilles on the rad outlet and edge of the rear hatch?
They look like the recycled plastic things you can get from a garden centre to stop leaves going down yer outside drains…
(…not that I frequent garden centres, you understand, lol )
Totally agree that this bit really lets the car down and not just in photos.
Maybe Lotus credit lines with normal suppliers dried up and they had to go where you suggested
I think you have it on the nose - UK/European market is an irrelevance at present - Admin’s post on registrations underlines this.
Totally agree !!!
Also somewhat confused by the Lotus marketing lot… yes I’m sure there a market for this being a very luxurious Elise
But why call it an Exige? Its not plain and simple
I have no idea what the new management are thinking at Lotus at the mo or understand the Exige light weight analog road going track car concept and the niche market the Exige is in , why kill off the only car that Lotus was selling with any numbers just as track days have never been so popular and replace it with this fat hairdressers car ??? I would buy a Porsche if I wanted one of them
I think it’s management by ‘ego’s’
nobody wants a fat hairdresser… just a fit one…
same applies to the exige…
At Geneva yesterday and Roadster looked to be aimed at the Boxster market. VERY plush interior (all dash was leather).
Should never have been called an Exige though
