Am liking this!!
Sounds good, let me know what you need.
What i think we need to do is either have all the photos sent to a hosting site or to me or Mike. That way we could check the quality and then start to collate them in some sort of order.
I was thinking if we all get our chassis numbers and start at the lowest first and then work through. That way if there are any late takers or newbies we can include them easier
As for the details of each car i was going to go for:Reg number(upto the masses if they mind including this, its optional) Chasis number, LHD or RHD, Official Lotus colour, Engine number, Engine Type (K,Type R,Audi, RSV8 etc), Added extras, Owner profile. And for thge race cars their history e.g races and victories/ placings.
Any other ideas would be most welcome, please let me know.
As you can see from my location i’m in NZ, i hope this doesn’t put anyone off. Like Rob says nowt to do in the dark winter months.
Mike please let me know what you think, after all i’m only the 2IC

Good idea - count me in.
Jez,
That would be a good starting point. Ultimately I would like to be able to record continuous history to include things like engine swaps, colour changes and so on, i.e. true configuartion management. This is partricularly important for the competition cars but the data you suggest regarding the current configuration would be a good starting point.
Whilst the data can be stored in a database the most enduring type of record is probably a paper one although the database is the best search tool.
A photographic image after any significant change will also be required.
We also need a keeper/owner name and some means of contact e.g. email address or phone No or similar to maintain the register properly. Actual locations for the car should not/would not be revealed of course.
What about if I design a downloadable data capture form which can be filled in and sent back electronically so that the database can be started. We’ll need Admin’s help with this.
Only minimal data should be available on line.
So what if Jez collects the photos and I collect the data, each to be held against the last four digits in the chassis number? I suggest that we ar only interested in Chassis Numbers SCCGA111**H8***
where the stars are the only variable characters otherwise it’s not a factory build S1 Exige. Or am I missing something?
Brilliant Rob Was great to get down and see you and everybody else on sat, the stand looked brill, a credit to everyone involved. Obviously had to come down in my exige as the forecast wasn’t looking good, He dosen’t seem to mind my exige getting wet Yeah he is much better thanks and we are hoping to get down to the the Watermillock 2moz nite.
Mike i’m happy with that. The database can always be expanded in time to collect more data as required. If everyone who has said that they would like to be included send me their photos
(front, left and right side and rear and one of your choice) i will start to collate them together. I will also need a name and chasis number so when we bring the data base and photos together it wil be easier to marry them up. Please send them to [email protected]
Put Exige somewhere in the title so i don’t delete them as spam. No photoshopping all the dirty bits off now , unless of course you happen to own a rally or grass tracking car . Once the numbers start to begin to build up i will send them to Mike.
The only way we can get as many as possible is by wrd of mouth or other Lotus forumns, SELOC, Elisetalk. LOT, LDC etc etc. Spread the word. We should be looking at 400 or so seperate cars. Thats if everyone wants to be included?
It will be worth it in the long run.
I will await the first email.
Has anyone else actually got around to sending Jez an e-mail yet?
I’ll have to wait a while to send my pics through, when my car’s back in one piece again.

Guys,
I’m currently designing a data capture form which, hopefully, I’ll finish soon and make available on-line somehow.
