I would like to know who has the newest original Exige S1 in the world ?
If you know or own an original Exige S1 in mint condition with very low mileage please show us some pics please
Mine is 12 000 miles, black with red interior. It is a very nice example, the best I found until now but I am sure there are some even ‘‘newer’’. Where are they hidden in the world ??
I was about to say “I really want a black one” but around here, thats way too open for requote-innuendo.
But absolutely loving yours Emmanuel - with the red Motorsport seats I’d say that would be my No.1 choice if I had to pick my own colour combo. Lovely.
Je suis Thommo. Are you Emmanuel who was interested in buying my 111S after I’d bought my Exige and who kindly gave me the name of Frank from Germany to whom I sold the Elise?
If so, nice to hear from you again.
Congrats on a stunning Exige.
Hi Emmanuel
Your car looks fantastic, mine isn’t the newest by mileage at 30k, but may have been the last road registered in March 2004 although its build number is 160
Pic in my Avatar.
March 2004! Why did Lotus keep it hanging around for that long - or did a dealer take that long to sell it new? Wow . I thought mine was bad being an early car, but not registered until May 2001 (with the subsequent tax hike ).
Emmanuel said ‘original’ - how much of your car is original Exige S1?
You’ve done tons of stuff to it. What are you getting the Edwards Boyz to do for this years track action?
Cheers,
Clive.

It is original - well Andy D has one very close in spec … so not quite an original … make that 2 of them
brakes for this year, 4 pots front, plus 2 pots on rear, motorsport uprights, new drive flanges and bigger bearigns… oh and I might get round to fitting the motorsport engine cover that John flogged me last January and has been hanging in the garage ever since
Apart from that its a good service, geo and thorough check over and then hopefully out in time for Donny in March

get a grip dave stop moaning and pedal a bit faster
If it’s still in original paint, that’s a shame he will not be able to use it on track. I feel that an S1 is not yet a museum piece and should still be enjoy’d, and at the end of the day I’m still worried (as I’m used to in the classic cars business) that “original” means a lot of dosh asked when for sale.
Col Nice! Ill watch you go by on the Exiges trackday.
DaveP Do what I do. Dont bother, and watch people like Col go by. Being the slowest means that no one holds you up, and you get better quality track time - all for effectively doing nothing.
Bumblepup Yeah, Ive still got the Yip too (sounds like a medical condition that you shouldnt admit too in public, doesnt it ). Thats a great idea, your Exige is only original if youve still got the yip. So, should the topic be changed to who has the newest original yip Exige S1?
Dave “what’s hidden under my smoked decklid” P - I’m sure you’ll not be far behind. Last time out at oulton your White car was like that bloody White beetle from the TOP GEAR African adventure - everytime I looked in my mirror there you were - no matter how hard I was pedalling
Woaw so many answers. Thanks a lot guys for your participation. That is great to see discover all those nice example ) It was my first post on exiges.com and to be honest I was scared to post this topic. I was afraid of people answering to me ‘‘What a stupid Post ! There is no interest to let an Exige S1 in the garage without driving it !!’’ Well, it’s true in a way but I’ve always been fascinated by those ‘‘time warp’’ cars. There is an another Exige S1 which I think really deserve to be on the list. It’s a metallic green that has been sold by Rob…and which belongs to me now This car has 14 000 miles and in really nice condition too.
I spent many hours on it, converting it to LHD and improving and fixing few things. I need to polish it much better and take new pics, which I’ll do soon now that the sun is back in France
