Which plumbed in fire extinguisher?

After 4 years of rebuilding my S1 I am now looking at plumbed in extinguishers (the thought of it going up in flames after all my hard work really doesn’t bare thinking about!!!).
Anyone have any recommendations? Powder/gas/foam? Location of bottle up under dash/footwell/by seat?
I am happy to have mechanical operated system, not sure the electrically operated is worth the extra money?

Thanks

Mines plumbed in by Dan at HPE. Bottle sits up front next to the light weight battery. Can take a pic tomorrow if you like…

Yes please!

FEV Gas. Do not go powder or foam.

Pictures of my install in the passenger football are on my thread

Honestly, you’d be much better off getting yourself on a agreed value insurance policy and having someone inspect it and verify that amount…

You’re looking at it all wrong imo. Youre going at it from a “saving the car” point of view when you should be looking at it from a “it will give me 5 more seconds to get out of the burning car” point of view…

A small fire in the engine bay it may contain (if you catch it quick enough), a large fire no, there just isn’t enough retardant in the canister to stop it from burning but it may give you those few extra seconds to escape it.

Interesting location Rob! Thanks for the pictures.
