Which Ctek ?

Just had my first experience of the car not wanting to start!

Car has been unused for 3 weeks so i’m guessing its the usual flat battery syndrome

I hear good reports about the Ctek battery conditioners so I am going to buy one but which one is best?

Many thanks

Chalkey

Not the answer you’re after but I use a timer and switch my charger on 'trickle ’ for an hour a day …
Works for me

I bought a Halfords charger/maitainer unit a few years ago for about 30. It has worked perfectly. Recommended.

(It switches automatically between charging & maintaining, so you can plug in & forget).

I have a small C-tek (even if they advertize it for bikes). It’s my second one, the first stopped working (and the Exige with it) after 3 years (out of warranty-bollo***). Otherwize, the unit periodically sold by Aldi, albeit less glamourous in design but quite cheap, does the trick. Of course, having a battery which is not too old helps a lot - and disconnecting the Meta alarm also.

I’ve had mine about 4 years and not sure of the model but it is the same as the CTEK MXS 3.6. Comes with 2 leads to connect to the battery. The one has crocodile clips and the other can be permanently connected to the bolts on the battery terminals. Would buy one again and would also recommend one.

I’ve got one of the Accumate ones and it seems to do the job, the car lives on it.

I’ve got an MXS 5.0
Seems to do the job. Not sure my cheaper charger didn’t do the same.
Recommend having permanent connection to the battery to make hooking it up easy. Comes with the charger.

Can’t beat the CTek xs800
Works wonderfully well

Thanks guys, much appreciated replies

Off to do some eBay shopping now

+1 for Amazon

Are there any other issues with the S1 if you allow the battery to get completely flat… aside from it wont start!! ? , e.g.: alarm, immobiliser issues?

Sorted now chaps, ordered one fleebay

If the battery goes complete flat, there is a chance the alarm and immobiliser forget each other exists and then you have a permanant starting problem until you loop the immobilisor out.

Lotus branded the CSI Airflow as their own which I’ve used successfully through about a decade

Seem to be available here - http://www.promaxmotorsport.co.uk/products/559-battery-conditioner-csi-airflow.aspx
