This may be a topic previously beaten to death, so an advanced apology, but why is the Honda so popular in comparison to the Turbo Technics route? If dabling into the world of a conversion what are the highs and lows of the various alternatives?
Trying to get a grip of which route makes sense and little parity as to best route.
All down to choice, but perhaps you could think of it like this:
Purity = Tuned K (if you’re in to engines you may enjoy this route)
Just want more power in a proven revvy Jap lump = Honda
Fancy more power than a Jap lump will give you = SC Honda
Good value uber torque low down in the rev range = Audi Turbo
The TT route was perhaps the 1st major option available, and being a pioneer many of the issues associated with development, not least the delays in bringing it to the market, were shared by many on this and other forums.
It has always been quite an expensive option, not that many done (at least in 260 guise), and has always appeared a little fragile.
Good that they tried it and very impressive performance but I would question the longevity of the engine.
The Honda in comparison has appeared to be a more of a plug and play conversion with the development going into making a standard engine fit rather than tweaking power. As such, it does have a reputation as being a more conservative modification.
For my money, and I guess most other peoples, the Honda is better.

I think you should ask this on SELOC, oh and ask if the Honda is reliable?
