Which ARB for Nitrons?

I also run different Geo (very little toe out at front 340R at rear, lots of camber all round).

SBS Carbon Ceramic brake pads, almost half the price of Padgis and VERY good.

Nice well balance handling on the A048’s.

Heard of those, never tried them.
There’s a couple more that I want to try, the never ending search.

Used SBS on other cars. Seemed fine…

Would you have the SBS pad type/ID codes for the Elise/Exige front and back pads? (I guess you use the SBS ProTrack pads?)

Seems the SBS corporate site doesn’t really match the Elise well (it only finds 1 type of pads for all 4 wheels, which isn’t right…)

Bye, Arno.

Arno

I bought some rears about 6 months ago (not used them yet though!) & IIRC they were designated as being for a “Dodge Viper” - I’m not kidding, honest If I get chance, I’ll have a look at the packaging tonight & post the part number.

Just dug the boxes out.
They are SBS Pro Track Endurance (Carbon Ceramic) (They are Orange)

Fronts
3017.CC.TH14.3…A.P. Racing Calipers
…A.P.Racing Caliper CP 5111
…Lotus: Elise 1996-

Rears
3101.CC…Lotus: Elise 1996-

Yup… Should be the pro-track…

Rears
3101.CC…Lotus: Elise 1996-

Coudn’t find those on www.sbs.dk, but I did find the 3034.CC which is the rear brake for the Viper and the pad shape/size looks like the right one.

Thanx! I’ll hunt down a local dealer here

Bye, Arno.

In case other people are looking to try out different pads on the Elise…

Our friends in the USA use a numerical system for brake pad shapes and types.

As the Elise/Exige uses REAR pads from a Nissan Skyline at the front and also the REAR pads from a Dodge Viper I simply looked them up…

DODGE VIPER 2002-92 FRONT FMSI D592 REAR FMSI D491
NISSAN SKYLINE GTR 1995-89 FRONT FMSI D639 REAR FMSI D174

So the Elise becomes:

ELISE FRONT FMSI D174/109 REAR FMSI D491

The ‘D109’ might be possible at the front too. Slightly thicker pad (16.5mm vs. 14.1), but same backing plate shape.

These numbers should make it possible to cross-reference with just about any brake pad manufacturer you want.

Bye, Arno.

Arno,

The rears I’ve got took ages to come in at the importer, so not sure if they are a new design or not?
