can you give me any advise where to buy these gas shock lifts that hold the rear bonnet open?

they are really stiff to start with but you let the gas out a little at a time through a grub screw until they are enough to just hold the lid open, but do go too much as they can’t be refilled.

whohooo, thanks for the link! But I bellieve they are too long: Extended length 450mm wehre as mine are 392mm.

The ones in the link are the ones that I have fitted to several cars. Might be that you have to re-drill the mounting holes to re position the struts. I think you can get the struts in different lengths if you go on to the rs website and search for “gas struts” there are all sort of different types and lenghts.
