Hi all,
I have the names of a few web places to buy bits (Hangar 111 / Sector 111 / Bell and Colvill / Plans etc) Is there a list of them somewhere on the site, or are there any site sponsors?
Next question:
None of them seem to differentiate between S2 Exige and Exige S?
This is mainly when looking at panel filters… Is the airbox the same on both cars?
I am trying to find a Green Cotton one for my S.
I presume pretty much everything else will fit between the cars, ie suspension advertised for the NA Exige will fit the S…?
Thanks
Hi Mark
I just had the TRD airbox & filter fitted - about 60.00 for both parts. See the Lotus Sport site for details.
Def improved throttle response
As for suspension I believe the only difference between the N/A & the S is the spring rates as the S is heavier due to the supercharger etc.
Russell at Lotus mentioned that he would consider ‘Group Buys’ on things like suspension etc.
Chris
You can also buy the TRD panel filter or a cheaper Blitz one from www.fensport.co.uk they are toyota tuning specialists. They also stock the TRD clutch/ lighter flywheel etc.
Be aware the airbox is a toyota corolla 190 airbox not celica as people think (its a couple of cm’s longer)
Sinclaire stock most stuff for the Exige S, most parts are interchangable for the engine, I am now looking at the TRD airbox from Lotus as a sensible and easy upgrade, not sure if it will have any effect other than maybe lower the parasitic loss from the SC as it won’t have to suck so hard
Thanks chaps.
I have looked all over the Lotus website and cannot find any online store which lists performance parts
Any clues?

Good tip there, I would have bought the Celica one

If I can get my new airbox, my old Green filter will be available, all depends if you can hang on till I can get it?
I want one of these TRD boxes after all this talk
Shall def bear it in mind though Ade.
Hi Mark
http://www.grouplotus.com/cars/home.html
Go to Lotus Sport - all the bits are there, including the airbox & filter.
Chris
Well I bit the bullet and just ordered the new airbox and filter, filter 40 air box 12 delivery 10 all plus vat, I think this is a good price for a decent filter and a larger opening and filter size, not sure if there will be any real gain but for the cost I think well worth it.
Hi Ade
Did you join Lotus Club International first ?
Damn not yet, but on the other hand they have not processed my order yet as they shut on Friday’s at 12:15…
Where do I join and how much is it?
Hi Ade
The Lotus Club International forms are on the Group Lotus website.
http://www.grouplotus.com/cars/join_lotus_club.html
Cost is 35.00 for a year or 90 for 3 years.
Just quote your Membership no when you order & get 15% discount before 1st June
Chris
What other benefits are there? doen’t work out well money wise to do it for a 60 order
Depends on if you plan on buying any other bits or experiences - driver days or factory visits.
According to the site this also applies to servicing etc
The 15% is until June then it drops to 10%.
I take it that the TRD air box is the one off of the cup ?? If so does the installation delete the snorkel making the super charger whine lounder ??
That’s why my car sounds louder !!!
I’ve got the TRD box and filter from Lotus Motorsport. Makes the SC sound much nicer, a little louder but not significant.
Looks like it is the next must have item… I take it that the installation is easy - ie. remove the old box and replace through the NS wheel arch
