Wheel specs?

I’m looking into having a set of wheels made for my Exige so that I can run a second set to mount rain tires.
Here in the US you just can’t run out and get a set of wheels from your local breaker for an S1.
So if anyone knows the demensions of the center bore, lug pattern, offsets etc… I would apreciate the info.

Cheers guys,
Mike

Aren’t they Elise 15&16"?

Try a search on here for Speedline, there should be some details on sizes over last couple of years.

Don’t forget when looking at the specs of the speedline wheels, the offset of the rears is different to standard. If memory serves, the speedlines need a 3mm spacer to put them in the same place as the standard wheels.

Sean…

Can’t do that here either!

Looks like it might be easier to run the adapters that Geary at Eliseparts sells and than I can run S2 wheels or any number of 4X100 bolt circle wheels.

Try a search but I seem to recall some discord on here about running the adaptors.

Ian

Mike,
From what I know, adapters should be fine provided they’re well made. I had a friend who raced his Elise on slicks on several occassions with adapters fitted.

Oh no discord breaks out again…running spacers should have nothing to do with how well they are made - providing they are not made of cream cheese.

They are a poor engineering and an excuse for getting properly engineered wheels. After all, the Exige is all about form following function NOT the other way around.

Please don’t pimp your Exige and fit spacers…

I have speedlines fitted without spacers…

Never had a problem - am I running a risk??

Take a rear wheel off Mike and see if there is any rubbing at the back on the chassis rail.

Ian

You’re not trying hard enough…

See my post re Silverstone, and say that again…

Good thought Ian - I checked that after first fitting, and there is plenty of clearance.

Possibly this is because of the 650 Lb springs at the back ??

Perhaps, but they won’t change the sidewall stiffness and hence the amount they’ll angle over. In fact, perhaps they’d lean more if you’re getting more grip from the stiffer springs (techno-numpty warning there).

Ian

I now also have a (ahem) modified rear clam !!
