Wheel arch lining(s) S2

Hi, am I the only one or has anybody else had problems with screws missing (and in my case loosing the lining altogether) from their wheel arch lining?

yes

But welcome though!

Been there- done that and replaced under warranty. The liner flaps against the tyre and on mine it melted the vanes on the arch liner. Replaced without any problem though.

perhaps it might be worth replacng them with something like this:

Pray tell, what the hell is that???

Looks like it collapses when you screw something in to it, sort of like a rivet I guess.

Hmm, didn’t think I was the only one, something I’m gonna check everytime it gets a wash. Notice on the Exige S they’ve changed it…

Jack Nut - a threaded insert for all materials - molly nut
The JACK NUT threaded insert is a blind fastener designed for use in thin, soft, or brittle materials. When tightened, the body of the jack nut collapses to form legs which grip the inside of the mounting surface, leaving a permanent, reusable threaded insert.

Jack nuts are available in steel only, small packs of 5+ or regular packs of 100, 500 or 1000

Simple wrench available for setting small quantities of jack nuts

Jack nuts fastens in a blind hole, but unlike other blind rivet nuts, they are not hole sensitive. Won’t distort or deform soft plastics or thin sheet metals and fastens securely despite burrs or uneven substrate.

It’s precisely what holds the driving lamp brackets onto the crash structure on the S2.

I like the idea of those, as rivnuts have less material on the back of the hole, so eventually pull out of fibreglass / carbon etc. Where can i get those from then, and I guess they do them in all popular sizes??

The hint was in the words ‘web page’ next to the pic.
