What's the best suspension upgrade for my S2 Exige

I have a S2 Exige and which is used mostly on the road and I also go over to europe and love driving the mountain passes in the Alps ect.

I have been considering the ohlins 2 way adjustable suspension. But is this to much for what I need. Would the one way Ohlins be good enought and is it that much better than the standard S2 Exige set up?

I had a NA S2 before the 240R and the Two way Ohlins are fantastic on road or track. But consider that there is then a whole range of Ohlins above those (see Jamie’s Red Exige) that offer even greater benefits… as with the brake thread talk to plans about how you drive and you’ll get good no pressure advice

Thanks, I have been talking to Plans, but it is easy to go mad and spend money that you don’t need to spend.

I had a Caterham that I kept upgrading but it was then to much on the road.

Playing Devil’s Advocate - given what you want to use it for and what you say you did to your Caterham, why change at all?

My standard suspension has been great for road use including several long Euro mountain tours.

Wish I’d thought of that

I was going to say the same thing. For road use, the standard setup is very good.

If you’re not a meddler, I can thoroughly recommend single way Nitrons with an uprated ARB. Miles better than standard, with full soft being considerably more compliant for everyday + touring.

Plans did mine

I fully agree with this
I have got the Ohlins and I am very happy with them for 80% track use and 20% road (I need to reach the track ) but I believe that Nitrons is the best quality/value option.

That could be viewed as a contradiction in terms given Nitrons reputation for needing regular rebuilding!

What, as opposed to Ohlins?

Did I mention Ohlins?

In truth, I have not heard of (m)any people complaining about Ohlins but many complaining about Nitrons. That’s not to say that Ohlins don’t suffer from the same issues. It may be more a reflection of the volume of each product sold.
